I'm trying to design a tip-jet system by porting the exhaust gas mix along the rotors.

Has anyone tried a rectilinear orifice for jets o/p? The idea is to have the jet o/p as a linear
opening and thus have a low profile to match the blade and reduce drag.

In 1970 Compcop had several kits (probably none were ligit). One was the Compcop G-1 with three/four lawn mower engines (now the Vortech G-1). I purchased this kit and started to build it as a freshman in high school. Never finished it (they don’t fly anyway as far as I know).

Compcop also had a cool backpack helo. It was a single blade with a round counterweight and a compressed air tip like you described. I could not find an old photo.

Here’s onother with a jet tip:

Good ideas in rotary wing aircraft are a dime a dozen.
Good, excellent, even marvelous engineering is required to make them work.
Good luck!
