Contrary to expectation, I have found some documents that are in the public domain, are not yet mentioned in the technical database of the Forum, and seem to me to be useful. I would like to post them, but the format prescribed seems a bit awkward, in that you want clarifying comments added to the title field. I feel that a summary, abstract or brief review deserves its own field. E.g.:
Title: Rotary Wing Development (American Helicopter Society Semi Technical Bulletin No. 1, May 1944)
Author: Bennett, James A. J.
Publisher: American Helicopter Society
Abstract: A semi-technical briefing on both autogyros and helicopters, written for intelligent laymen and newcomers to the field of vertical flight at the very dawn of that field. Very useful introduction to the entire field of rotary flight. 20 pages.

Unfortunately I am quite a bit away from turning out any hardware. My idea is a bit special so I have to come up with a design of my own and I feel I need a very thorough understanding of existing theory for this. That is why I programmed a numerical gyro simulation program. That one has made considerable progress though and I hope to be able to release it to the public sometime this year.
Do you already have an idea where in Germany you will be deployed and how long you will stay? We could try to meet and talk gyros over a nice beer....;-)

Apart from the usual problem that progress on my gyro program is much slower than I'd like it to be I am doing very well. I had tried to contact you several times and when that failed I was worried as to what might have happened. Great to hear from you! Is your project now getting under way again, Jacob?

My university is working on designing and building a Light-Helicopter (about 100kg) for civil purposes and I'm in the rotor group. I'm currently assigned to do a research on main rotor components and their materials. I've been searching the net for a resource book for my essay but I couldn't find anything so I was wondering if you know a book or an article about materials used in rotor which I can read for my essay.
