Anybody got one of these? Looking for a Ken Brock MFG Volks Wagon motor mount for the KB-2. If anyone has one for sale please let me know. If you have one, but it's not for sale, please let me know......I can have it duplicated and returned to you.

Drawings would be cool too.

Hi John

I do have a set of KB mount for a VW engine, I don't want to sell them because
I'm planning to install a Great Planes engine in my Bensen/Brock gyro, but you are
welcome to copy them, I am here in Duluth GA. please call or send me an e-mail

Screw and tcastro, I too am interested in a set of those mounts. Screw do you want to make two? I could pay for the second set and also Great Plains might be interested in building them.

I have good news!!!! I have in my posession a VW motor mount, and will be sending it off to have it duplicated.

According to my sources, it will be just as easy to duplicate as many as I need at one time. The more that are done, the cheaper the cost per unit. This is a "One Time" chance, because there are no drawings, and no drawings will be made. Once it's done, that's it. If anyone wants a set, let me know in a PM and understand that you will be committed to that set and the cost associated.

The bad news, I won't know the cost until it's done, but I know the people and they are Aircraft machinist and will do a quality jod with the appropriate materials.

For those who are not familiar with the mount, it is a motor mount set that will bolt the "FlyWheel" end of a VW motor to a Bensen or KB-2 mast (Any 2x2 mast set at a 9 degree angle). The upper mount claps around mast and the lower mount bolts through the mast. The mast itsself, is usually 2 seperate 1x2 pieces of T-6 aluminum joined together to form a single 2x2 mast.

The third piece of the mount (No reproduction necessary) is a rod with a "U" shape at the top that bolts to the engine through the casebolt closest to the prop hub, and goes all the way down to the Keel bolting through the Keel.

I have the oil cooler mounted to this pole in the first picture, and you can see the upper and lower mounts in the second.

Let me know in a PM if anyone wants one.

John, I would like a set also. Tried to pm you but your message box is full. Thanks, Steve Weir

Really nice to have good people as friends!

Just in case anyone wants to know.....the machine shop that will be doing the work are Aircraft machinists, certified aircraft welders etc. A couple of guys at work that work in the machine shop also have machine shops they manage at home, for military contracts and motorcycle machine work, these guys do great work and it is all first class stuff. I personally know these guys and work with them, No druggies or wanna-be's.
Like John said: One time good deal, once they get a chance to look at the parts and give me an estimate I will let John know.

Sorry, PM is now cleared. My Bad. Please re-send.

Don't know what you mean by that All In. Care to clearify? I like to think all of my friends are good people, and most on this forum I consider family.

John doesn't want to be out the cash, and just have it sit on the shelf.
If anyone here wants to make the investment for a motor mount they will never use, just so they can save it for someone that may need it one day, or a pattern, step up and order one.
I already have too many thousands of dollars of spare parts lying around to just buy more parts for the shelves and spiders. :)

Yes I did, I was going to answer you real soon, The Wife has had me doing Chores all morning, :)
I need to check and see what I have, I'll get back to you shortly.
