The Vertical Challenge Adventure!

Thank you Scott, It was a great adventure for me.

I learned a lot, there was excitement and challenge and the goal was accomplished without undue hardship or expense.

It was better than I imagined it could be.

Life treats me well.

Thank you, Vance

Vance, I love your detailed descriptions of your flights, they are awe-some!. I find you an amazing man, what you've accomplished the last year or two is a inspiration to me, and at my age I'm not easily inspired.

I am glad to have you along Jay.

That is a very nice compliment.

I love writing about the adventures and I learn from it.

I have found great support and inspiration on this fourm.

Thank you, Vance

The thread should be titled "Vance's excellent adventure"

I like the way that you describe things so eloquently, You do have a gift for writing. :)

Thank you Scott, I find value in the sharing.

I am glad you like it.

We diverge on the title.

Thank you, Vance

I went flying tonight with Ed and something felt different.

I had trouble putting my finger on what made this trip such a learning step.

Both my landings and takeoffs were better but that wasn’t it.

What made this trip different is I had so many choices.

In the past it has pretty much been go or no go.

This trip was about making choices on what is happening now and what I want to accomplish. It was about degrees, not black and white.

The fog chased us inland; I could turn around or go over the ridgeline.

I had to manage airspace, wind and fog.

I was unfamiliar and I didn’t want to get lost.

I felt like I had become a sentient pilot.

Tonight I had better control and I flew from my heart.

I love progress.

Thank you, Vance

Hey Vance,

Too Cool

In the past it has pretty much been go or no go.

This to was very true...but no longer!
