N numbered but no airworthiness certificate

I believe this was originally from a 1996 Kit

I bought this as a stock RAF in 2011, completely disassembled it and rebuilt it with modifications. This aircraft has never flown since I rebuilt it.

In my opinion it is complete and ready for airworthiness but is being sold as parts for your own build project.

Currently built with many safety/stability modifications.
Boyer horizontal stabilizer
soft touch suspension system
6 inch keel/engine drop
landing gear extended 10 “ and moved 2” rearward
overall keel length extended 8”

Carburated EJ-22 engine
Original RAF blades, hub bar and mast head.

Asking $16,000 which is less than I have into it.

How do you get it registered without a airworthiness certificate and can you even get it

inspected without being the builder ?
 
Should he go through the registration process? I think it can be sold without the phase 1 flown off.

On the other hand it seems like the experimental build rules have evolved since most gyros are "builder assist". I'm honestly not sure since I built and registered my plane 6 years ago.
 
Actually it needs to be registered and numbered in order to get the AW certificate. I'm currently going thru the process and waiting on the DAR to come do the inspection on my build.

That said if I were the builder and it really is ready for inspection I think I'd get the AW certification finished. It would certainly add to the value.
 
Yes,you can get a N number from the FAA for anything and need that for airworthiness process. I just haven't been able to find a local DAR to go through the process. Had one a few years ago that inspected,found a couple minor fixes he wanted done before he signed off on it but then moved out of state before I could get him back. I thought I'd have time to travel for airworthiness and training but with my current lifestyle it's not happening.
 
Is it registered,or did you simply reserve an N number? If you simply reserved an N number, then it DOES NOT have an N number.

Compré esto como una RAF de valores en 2011, lo desarme por completo y lo reconstruí con modificaciones. Este avión nunca ha volado desde que lo reconstruí.

En mi opinión, está completo y listo para la aeronavegabilidad, pero se vende como partes para su propio proyecto de construcción.

Actualmente construido con muchas modificaciones de seguridad / estabilidad.

Quilla de 6 pulgadas / caída del motor
tren de aterrizaje extendido 10 "y movido 2" hacia atrás
