Sorry Tim, at best this is merely evidence that Saddam once had a chemical weapons program, and confirmation that it had long been inactive. Santorum cherry-picked a declassified army intelligence report in order to make this claim, and conveniently failed to make mention of the army's most salient points -- namely that none of the munitions found had any military value, nor were they the weapons we invaded Iraq for. Here's an amusing clip of Santorum getting called out on this, on Fox News no less.

If you need further indication that this simply isn't the smoking gun Bush had been desperately hoping for, make note of the fact that his administration never even bothered to announce the "finding". And wisely so -- the White House's Iraq Study Group's final report came out 6 months later and had this to say :

"While a small number of old, abandoned chemical munitions have been discovered, ISG judges that Iraq unilaterally destroyed its undeclared chemical weapons stockpile in 1991. There are no credible indications that Baghdad resumed production of chemical munitions thereafter, a policy ISG attributes to Baghdad’s desire to see sanctions lifted, or rendered ineffectual, or its fear of force against it should WMD be discovered."

The yellow cake they had we knew about, the stuff was degrated and of no use. Even if the sh*t was good, they had no way to process it.

America has already benefitted since 9-11. We have not been attacked again. We aren't going to successfully defeat Al-Qaeda by sitting over here waiting for them to come attack us. The lives lost in Afghanistan and Iraq have not been in vain. Freedom isn't free. A small minority have made sacrifices to protect the majority. Unfortunately, a lot of the majority can not see or understand the big picture. They themselves are unwilling to make any sacrifice or serve in any capacity.

The WMDs that had any ties to Russia were moved by truck & plane to Syria prior to the war. Some of the trucks were buried in Syria.

Ask the question; "Is Puttin really bad news?" It is a simple question that can be answered by nearly everyone. Few will take time to understand the significants Russia plays in the Middle East. Not even the obvious as in Georgia.

What I can't understand, after the 9/11 attack, why did the US, supposingly with sh#thot intel, go after Saddam? Saddam had diddly squat to do with it! Saddam had no Al-Qaeda connection. Saddam is a shi'ite, Bin-Laden a Sunni, they won't sit around the same table. Everybody new the baddies were Al-Qaeda, as well as where they were, again, why was Saddam the evil dude of 9/11? after the first Gulf war, surely the US should have known Al-Qaeda has nothing to do with Saddam in Iraq.

Why don't you guy's comment on the story of the Kuwaiti girl Nayirah that claimed she saw the atrocaties in Kuwait, the interview that swung the US public and gov opinion to launch the first Gulf war. The whole thing was a PR stunt, how about you guys comment on how the US managed to be fleeced by a PR company!! To me, that's when things started going down the wrong track in the world.

Why don't you check up that the guy's sponsoring the 9/11 terrorists were being supported from the UAE. The leader, Mohammed Attar, was leading the public department of Sh Sultan bin Khalifa, the son of the current ruler of the UAE, Sh Khalifa. The meeting place in the UK, where all the intel reports said they met and planned things, is still owned by the same son of the ruler of the UAE. One of the terrorists was an officer in the UAE military. Yet today, the UAE is the biggest muslim ally of the US in the Middle East. The bases of Saudi and Bahrain are being replaced with UAE bases. The biggest airbase for USE use in the UAE, Safran, has about the whole US military on it. Yet, no-one thinks they are bad, but the 9/11 terrorists were supported from there.

How does all that fit into the picture, why is it only Iraq that was bad ??
