New Auto-Gyro/Rotorsport?

Side by side.

So eventually after the demise of RAF
and success of Xenon all manufacturers,
one by one go for side by side... :)

Sportcopter still fiddling, Kruza in Oz,
Magni quite successful, and now Auto-Gyro.

Maybe again a clone ? like Magni M24 Orion ? :yo:

Taking into consideration their "engineering" until now,
they needed to wait until M-24 is confirmed OK
to try to clone it.
:)

Another marketing stunt instead of serious information.
:(

Hi

Figures from the UK for modern side by side gyros, currently

10 examples of M24 registered in UK

15 examples of Calidus registered in the UK

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve,

despite its strong yaw reaction on throttle changes the Calidus would probably not qualify as side by side. But you probably meant enclosed gyros.

Any particular section of the new side by side you want to have photographed, should I get access to it on the Aero?

Kai.

Hi Kai

Sorry my mistake ! The Calidus is of course a tandem two seater !

I was thinking "enclosed", apologies.

Steve

Calidus is tandem however the follow on is not.

They mentioned it at Sun n Fun and said they would announce at Bensen Days. Will shortly be unveiled at a show in Germany I think.

Didn't see them yesterday at Bensen Days however they may be there by the weekend.

They never did show at Bensen days and I had promised not to say anything until Bensen Days having been informed at Sun n Fun.

It looks very nice and they do put a lot of effort into their gyros although they have come into some criticism with some of the things they 'got away with' with regard to section T and some accidents that have occurred in the UK.

You simply cannot please all the people all the time and all aircraft are a compromise and balance between various operator desires, costs effectiveness, and profitability to the manufacturer.

I think it will be a good gyro given the German desire for quality and I also thing that the side by side may have been driven by a possible market in the drive by the Justice Dpt to encourage the various State Law Enforcement Agencies in the US to reduce costs in their aviation Depts, a potentially very large market.

Calidus is to my knowledge presently the only manufacturer to have a gyro in an Aviation Dept of Law Enforcement in the US.

well, this "German-quality"-fairytale is the result of a quality that WAS long times ago ...............

Actually it is more the "Chinese-tradition": IF You copy, copy only the best

Poor Magni - Family: they developed the M24 Orion for years and now the copies flood the market with the fairytale-German-quality .............

I fully agree with you.

They are floating on the wave of traditional believes.
The best example is the Dimler brand.
Recent Mercedes cannot survive the guarantee period without visiting
the garage at least 5 times, not speaking about the later problems...

I agree again.
Copy at any cost.

This is really embarrassing, how they get away with this marketing stunts
while haven't solved some basic technical problems causing lots of fatalities.

Hi PTkay !

I have to correct myself since I saw now also pics from the inside:

some ideas and ergonomy parts are from XENON .................
I also thought, I have seen those throttle and prerotator
handles somewhere before...

;)

But still the forward visibility and shoulder room were designed by themselves.

Some call it "form before function", you have to sacrifice a lot
to get this sexy look well matching the long legged girls
presenting it in the "smoke and mirrors" stunt they pulled off
in Friedrichsghafen....

:)

More about the girls, please!

Here you go, smoke, mirrors, girls...

attachment.php

That's what makes the aviation safe and sound.

:)

Of course girls and smoke do not make ithe product safer.

Its all about advertising. Lights, girls and smoke attracts attention so that ppl will take photos and publish them in magazines and on websites.

This provides free advertising and press coverage for their product. It guarantees their product will be seen worldwide on all the forums that matter.

Seems like it worked fine to me.
