DeWalt Top 17 Contest

Stan, I just visited the Dewalt site and must say you stand alone in my opinion, you have my vote for sure.

The DeWalt website makes it hard to view all projects. Seems the pictures of the participants are moved to a different placement with each view making it hard to keep track of which projects I have looked at. Not many of the other finalists have been updating their build progress which has your 20+ pages leading the pack + your stairs are just amazing. A nice touch for your presentation might be to start with a before, (the hole picture) and an after with the completed staircases followed by the build. Just a thought. From what I have seen so far you will be getting my vote!

Stan; If you were to quit posting the stairs, how would people come to appreciate the quality of the work performed by a true artisan. I spent many years in a machine shop. I for one appreciate the tips, and the quality of the final result.

Brandon: I have been trying to do what you mentioned....place a latest photo at the beginning of my journal. I have tried that for a week now with out success. Plus....their site keeps posting my very latest pictures about 4 pages back from the end. I have called three times asking them to fix that.....maybe they have today.

This has been a fun project, but I am glad its about over. The adrenalin burn has me tired, and I could not keep up this pace forever. It will be nice to sit back and have no regrets about putting enough effort and emotion into this contest. I said I was going to do what I could to gve it my best shot, and I believe I have. Next Monday is my day to install the iron balusters and my deadline for posting my final pictures.

I look back early in this thread and just shake my head. All the nice comments coming my way when it was a long shot that I make the final 17.

I can give a lot of thanks for the support given me here from all the fine folks on this forum. You dont realize how much that meant to me...and how it gave me the tenacity to keep up the pace that it would take to get this pulled off.

Stan

I have just posted my final pictures. I am relieved this contest is over! I have put my heart and soul into this....and I want to especially thank my wife Barbara for putting up with my insane schedule this fall. I promised her I wont take on so many projects at once EVER!!!

Thanks for viewing the pics at www.dewalt.com/top17 and please vote once a day for my project....IF...you really feel it deserves it.

I posted some of my final pics here as it takes awhile to get to them on the Dewalt site.

Stan

Great Job! Now it's time for us to help Stan, please vote everyone.

Stan,

You have my vote! But one question.....how do you vote?

There is a "vote for me" button available now.

For me it throws an error, but thats maybe due to my work connection, or because it is not active, yet.

Keep trying and tell us when successful!

Kai.

I see the vote button. Mine comes up error also. I am sure they will get the bugs out asap/

One thing I just noticed is that there is a Leaderboard button. That will make this interesting and may cause me to offer free gyros to everyone that votes for me.:D

Stan

Good idea, Stan.

When payback time comes, you could then send out those teetered rotor on a stick gyros you wer showing us.
They should be easily mass produced. Postage paid by recipient.

Kai.

Guys: I really thought I would just drop this competition when my project was done. But now that there is a leaderboard, this is a just like a race and the real competition begins now! I will wear out my welcome here, but I cant quit now. I am asking for your daily votes till the checkered flag is dropped on Dec. 15th. Just be patient,,,they will be enabling the buttons soon.

Stan

Stan; I started my voting today. Had to create a user account with Dewalt to be able to vote. Not a problem though.

More votes coming your way!
