New plane

A North American SNJ. Cool!

I have a little more than 100 hours in the AT-6 Texan with a little more than five in an SNJ out of that 100. Outside the obvious tail hook, the SNJ had a tail wheel lock/unlock lever next to the left canopy rail. The AT-6s I have flown had steerable tail wheels similar to the P-51 Mustang. Push the stick forward to unlock the tail wheel, pull back to lock. Simple. The airplane flies nicely, but will "bite" if mishandled. During an upright stall if the "ball" is not properly centered, the plane will "snap" onto it's back in less than a heart beat. It is easy to get into and out of an upright spin. An inverted spin is another matter.

Make sure to get yourself a ride Bobby. You will totally enjoy it!
