I Just cause it hovered doesn't mean it is " flying "

Sorry and correct me if someone has already noticed... didn't read all in detail, but from the videos and this being a single seat Helicopter and all with no wind...
Why does it lean to the right? The right skid always lands first.

Jonathan, people aren't banned for having opinions...people are banned for coating their opinion with a nice glaze of stupidity.

if you look close, the seat is off set to the right, to clear the collective pitch stick. also keep in mind this was a 320 pound pilot. .if you look at the restore thread you will see where I tried several seats trying to find one that would fit center. I did find and cut a race car seat but it was heavy and the Helicopter A&P that went over it with a fine tooth comb and spent several months getting this helicopter right, replaced the seat with one from a Citabria aerobatic plane to reduce some weight. of course it did not fit in the center and is off set to the right, if you look close at the photos, you will now see the battery mounted to the left side of the frame under the engine.

Note: yes there is a Video that will never be posted at Automan said, but only due to the fact that I no longer have a way to convert it from VHS-C format to DVD. that Said, yes I had a Tail rotor imbalance that cracked the frame , this has happened on several older commuters, and the tail boom has been repaired and reinforced by an A&P as these pics show.
and I also posted in the restore thread about the balance issue and how the blades did not match when I got them. hence the reason for the NEW custom made TR blades.

I really do love how everyone just loves to pick apart my machine, when it is a damn fact non of you have the Money to buy it as if you did, you would have bought it when it was listed cheaper.

but that is fine, the poll results are my main concern.
have fun bashing me and my machine all you want.
once again you make this forum look real friendly to a new member.

no matter what you want to say about it I have an honest answer and any issues have been fixed.

It is Experimental and that said it up to the Buyer to decide if his want to invest the money in it.

Isn't that just a natural bi-product from the tail rotor to cause the machine to lean right, assuming the tail rotor is pushing air to the right when viewed from the rear? At least thats how it seems to work with the rc models, not sure about tha big uns. :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one taking it for another condition. I take a quarter pill every morning, lifts it up just high enough, to stop me dripping on my shoes.....:D
Hahaaaaaaaaaaa! Damn Francois did your physician actually tell you what the damn thing was for or you just figured it out on your own? I feel betrayed. No wonder I still chase people away ........ except women....... Than I guess my narcissism is still not cured. :noidea: Well ..... I'll just shine in my newly found talent then :)
PS: how bad is that dripping on your shoes thing? LOL :first:

Oooh............ boy here we go again!

Except, now mom's involved....:drama:

Hey, enough said right there, but since it was a heavy pilot, it clearly shows off the flight characteristic in the video, hence the comment. It is also something that suggests further inquiry in my book. I would expect the skids to contact the ground together, but that's just me.
I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition!

I really do love how everyone just loves to pick apart my machine, when it is a damn fact non of you have the Money to buy it as if you did, you would have bought it when it was listed cheaper.
1) Helicopters are not on my list, but since they are closly related, it's good to learn.
2) There are some who have the money, but that wasn't the machine for me or them.
3) I love when machines are picked apart as it makes me learn and think about similar circumstances with my machine. My gyro had a going over this past weekend and we identified several issues and it's grounded until I correct/examine them.

I think that was done long before I got here. There are threads with great content, comic relief and there are the ones to ignore.

It is Experimental and that said it up to the Buyer to decide if his want to invest the money in it.
Exactly.

Holy Crap! There is enough disfunction here to keep a college of psychologists busy for years.

Tim ... you are waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy toooooooooooo sensitive. People like you. They are truly giving you advice and opinions from the heart.

YOU ARE THE ONE who turns it ugly -- every time.

You are a salt-of-the-earth kinda guy. Please don't take offense. People want you to succeed.

Animal: I posed the questions I would have as a potential buyer. No, I probably wouldn't buy it in any case because of the very issues that were raised by myself and others. The bottom line is you are selling something that is a one-off machine, absolutely no one knows if it will fly with any degree of certainty or even make it out of ground effect. And if it did, how long would it be before something critical would break in flight and all that would remain would be a smoking hole in the ground somewhere.

You can talk about the restoration all you want, but the bottom line is it's NOT FLYING. And asking someone to pay $30,000 for something that in all likelihood will never fly regularly is...ambitious. We lost a fine man just 2 weeks ago in an R22...a certified machine...here in Austin Texas, and the cause is still unknown. Helicopters have a LOT of moving parts, and one failure can be like a domino effect.

In the experimental world, a "high time" experimental helicopter has a couple hundred hours. In the certified world, helicopters routinely make it to TBO and beyond.

I've already voted no, but if I could, I'd change my vote. I'd love to see what range of bids you get on the open market for this machine.

Tim really turned out nice.
If you don't sell it bring it down to my place and I'll build you a sweet bran new gyro.
Shucks, I'll even through in a seat for ole Minnow Macky to fly with you. :)

~~JAKE~~

If your plans don't work out , my offer still stands.

~~JAKE~~

According to my mom, I used throw "tantrums" by playing dead. Much more peaceful !

But evidently just as embarressing !

Man, am I glad I don't have kids !

Chris- Now that is interesting. Playing possum. That would be much less stressful. You were a clever child! That is Advanced Parent Control 101!

Stan

She just told me that I would go so limp that it was hard to even pick me up !

I got whipped all the time . My Mom , my Grandma , and my Dad used to beat the crap out of me .
And I had it coming .
I've had to whip my girl twice and my boy once .
They are now 15 and 12 .
I thank God every day for my kids not being like me when I was a kid .

Flying is more or less a rich mans hobby. It is very expensive. It is not for the man who does not keep a steady job. When you half ass work and are lazy and live off your mom it just is not going to happen.

Paying your mother back should have been your 1st priority.

My wife and I manage money well. So can you if you do the same.
Geee thanks for the personnal attack, strange I thought that was why we fly gyros and sport helicopters, cheap to fly.

As for paying mom back she has money and good credit and was able to get the Forester loan at a better rate then I could. not that it is any of your business anyway.

but she knows my deals normally sell with in a short time and told me to just pay her back WHEN I sell the Helicopter.

not that it is your Business, but fact is I have been making payments back to her already.

I just love morons like you that think they have a clue about my life and my dealings.

congrats you made the ignore list.
you may now go and join automan on the same list.

have a great day.

Tim the only reason it appears to become his business is you put the info out there first about where you got the money. Hence scrutiny. If you don't want to be subjected to scrutiny of your personal life, keep it to yourself. I stole money from my grandma and robbed a lukemia donation jar to buy my gyro but I would not want anyone to hate me for it so I'll keep it to myself and no one will ever know....ah ****.

This thread is like a car wreck, ya just gotta look...
yep but it does one good thing, it shows me who my friends are and who are not.

I do have a few very good Friends on the Forum, but I also see I have more that are not friends, that is ok, as they say.. keep your friends close and your enemy's closer.

And trust me I am taking note to those that show their true colors.

fly safe ya'll, Karma is real and a lot of people are for sure bringing bad things their way. what goes around comes around.

Nuff said.

Good luck with your sale Tim. I hope you find my comments helpful. You are in a situation where you are trying to appoint two different values to your helicopter and they do not reconcile.

Intrinsic Value versus Fair Market Value

The Fair Market Value would be determined by whatever price it sells for in a well publicized auction , where the buyer and seller are not being pressured. If you listed it on ebay , with no reserve, whatever the highest bid is , would be the fair market value, period.

But in your case Tim , you are pricing it with an Intrinsic Value which is based on your feeling that it has value because it is rare , it has a unique history , it is the fore-runner of the Safari , and it has hovered successfully.

The only way you can get the price you want is to find someone who values the helicopter the same way you do , someone who sees the same intrinsic value you do , someone who always wanted a complete Commuter Helicopter for -collector - historical - or other reasons.

It is certainly possible you can find such a unique buyer , and you may get the price you want , but to present it in the general helicopter market will not likely accomplish that for you.

It is a very small market but you need to find someone who values the Restored Commuter helicopter for the same reasons you do.

Hope you find a buyer .
