Red's GyroBee build.

I started on getting the seat bolted to the seat rails this evening! Placed an order at wicks for stuff to finish up the seat and to get the engine bolted on, unfortunately they called me and said they were out of stock on the barry mounts and it will be a week till they get more stock! I noticed my bing carb has a hookup for a remote choke but I will leave that off and mount a plunger primer somewhere near the engine! :drum:

I just saw this was a build thread. I thought it was an on-going debate over 22 ft rotor blades so I never came back to it. Good progress.

Sorry bout that tim! I try my best not to cause :drama::drama::drama:

Yep thanks again dog!
I tested out my seat in redbaron gear "I know I look like a retard" but someone has to test these things :boink: and It is pretty darn comfortable even without cushions!

Redbaron :

Redbaron :
Maybe I should have thrown in the used tail wheel I had also. Starbee's put his tail wheel inside the tail boom. I like it on the outside myself.

If you put it inside you are saving some weight.
2 plates not used
3 bolt,washers and the nut
cut the square tubing out for the wheel

I was gonna cut a slot in the tailboom for a wheel but was told it would weaken things! :noidea:

Besides weakening the material in case of damage now you are going to have to cut to fix instead of placing new plates on.... I think if you are planning ahead you'll be better off with the outside wheel. Just my .02 :) Good going buddy, can't wait to see you fly her.

Since I have had it both way I would say I like the wheel on the outside also. I don't like the wheel on the inside because of the noise it makes.

Hey red look what I ran across. Weight only 6 Lbs. I could not believe it!

Hey thats a pretty cool looking seat, I'm not sure what to use for cushions or if I really need them its cosy like it is but my back might start tingling from vibration! I already started cutting the plates for the tail wheel and have a wheel like they use on shopping carts!

About the weigh thing. How much does it weigh? :noidea:

Hey dog It weighs 57.8 lbs with the seat! The other picture is the tail wheel plates I'm making! How much clearance you got from the ground to the tail wheel, dog? I think mine will have about 3.5"

RedBaron :
Just went out there I have 8" from the floor to the bottom of the wheel.... I have it sitting on a paint can. The reason I have so much room is because of the black max brake system I believe. I like the clearance. when it rocks back you can tell you are going.

Dirtydog, where did you find that 6 pound seat? My new bee is in progress.
