Building The Wopter-Copter

Soon young Skywalker....soon!

does anybody know how to contact Firewall Forward? I've left messages and emails and I'm afraid there out of business. I am in need of the rubber engine mounts for my cam100 and they look like aftermarket parts.

I got to sit in the gyro for the first time today. It looks like my seat mounts are going to work well. I'm kinda stumped on a what to do for the nose wheel. So we propped the gyro up on a step ladder.

Hey! Put my ladder back..........

Did Matt gain some weight and grow more hair on his face? Or is that someone else in the back seat

OK, I gotta ask. How many hours of "flight time" have you logged on the frame? And did you make "zoom" noises?

Kidding aside...nice looking frame. Good-looking design. I'll be interested to see the control setups. As much room as I had in my "stretch model", I still had to deal with several issues involving competing space for 2-place controls.

Making a little more progress on the gyro. My CAM 100 engine is mostly put back together. I have a few more parts to make but I would like to mount it in the next couple weeks. Ernie was nice enough to make me a custom nose fork. But since my keel is at 7 deg down I had to make a mounting block that will slip inside the keel and put the nose fork square with the ground. The block came out at 3 lbs, which is heavier than I wanted, but it will do its job well. Ernie was out of wheels so i have to machine my rim down to fit the fork and make bushings for the bearings. Should have it mounted on the gyro wednesday when we meet for our weekly build night.

Yaw Mon, that's what I'm talk'n about!!!

Going to be Sweet!

If the workman ship is half as nice as the details of the Gyro you had at Mentone, that will be one nice machine.

Thanks Tim, I'm building the gyro almost completely from scratch. It's coming along nicely, but I don't think I have the energy to do another one for a while. Hopefully this gyro is finished and flying this summer, with minor issues. If all is well i'd like to take it apart maybe next winter and have it painted or powder coated.
