MOSQUITO helicopter

Almost the same scheme as the Beaty's helico...Except for the three blades rotor, which could be good inspiration for a two places helico!!! ;)

How in the world would you ever get CAA approval for such a thing?

The longer I live Chuck the less inclined I am to obey our stupid regulations that we all put up with over here.

Lifes just too short.

Agree about airliners by the way. I never relax till I've had a few stiff drinks.

Bee

Bee

The two places could look like something like that!?

that helicopter is called the Bee, I have the whole history of it in some sort avaition magizines, in fact the first version was open cockpit and had a tail boom like a hiller, and the designer had a little A frame hanger made just big enough for it that he kept it in.

that was a very neat designed helicopter and they tryed to go thru FAA certifacation. but I don't know what ever happened after that, I heard it past all the tests they put it thru.

That’s the Scheutzow B helicopter. Webb Scheutzow had designed and obtained type certification as essentially a one man effort.

Webb was a former Kellett engineer who dropped dead of a heart attack at Sun ‘N Fun in the late ‘70s or early ‘80s.

The final reduction was a gang of high power “V” belts, not as efficient as Gates Polychain.

The Hunt Brothers of Texas had purchased manufacturing rights after cornering the silver market, but the bottom fell out of silver and the Hunt Bee never went into production.

Some “promoters” in West Palm Beach had purchased whatever tooling and components as the Hunts had along with a prototype but had neglected to purchase the type certificate.

It’s a long story but the prototype ended up spending several months in Ernie Boyette’s front yard in WPB.
