Hi all. I am goig to look at a gyro in Fla this weekend. I dont own a truck but I can probably borrow one if I need to tow something. I have been looking online and the Uhaul type trucks are too small. It seems maybe a car transport would work towed behind a truck or...?

Ideally I would fly to Fla, rent something and drive back to Va. Here are the dimensions - anyone got a great suggestion - fast!??

Thanks in advance send me privately as well to [email protected] ASAP!

The measurements are as follows: height is 9'2" - width at the main gear is 6'3"
without the wheel pants - the length is 15' nose to tailwheel - the distance
from the center of the main gear to the center of the nosewheel is 7'4" -
and the center of the mains to the tail wheel is 5'10".

I may be driving from NC. If I do, and not fly my plane, I plan on staying for a few days or sun and fun. you can split expenses with me if I tow your machine.

U-hall has a tow for auto that you can pull and put the entire gyro on. The trailer from Animal is a great buy. I would love to have.

Ron,
Why not start out with the Ultrawhite and then upgrade after you flown it awhile?

Timchick,

It is all about timing. Timing is everything as they say.

I must pick-up the Subaru-powered Dominator when I get back from Bensen Days. If I don't sell the Ultrawhite by then I will have 2 gyros. I do not need two of them.

I have been unable to solo in the Ultrawhite due to the local weather conditions. When I had the time to do it, the wind was always too high for a beginner like me on his first flight. So this deal came up quickly on the Dominator that I must act on or lose the opportunity to buy it.

If this Dominator deal had not presented its self, I would keep the Ultawhite for sure. It is a great machine and I have made many improvements to it since I purchased it several months ago.

I had planned to build a New full-blown Dominator and put a HKS-700e engine on it with saddle tanks like Ron A. did on his machine, since I am now a HKS engine dealer. I was going to make it into a long-range cruiser with a 5.5+ hour range. The Dominator that I am purchasing is also 4-cycle powered and comes with a 18 gallon seat tank which will provide about a 4+ hour range as is.

I am buying the Dominator even if I fail to sell the Ultrawhite at Bensen Days, or before. The Ultrawhite will make someone a great turn-key deal to get into Gyro World safely.

You better keep the ultrawhite and learn to fly in it before jumping up to the bigger subaru powered one. It will be alot cheaper to fix the ultrawhite if you have a flip over in it..... Hopefully you won't flip over, but it has happened to several people and all were new to flying gyros.

Fiveboy,

If you can't find a suitable larger trailer, do what Ernie B. does. He ships pre-assembled Dominators world-wide in a 4' X 5' X 10' box by breaking down the gyro into its major components for easy re-assembly when it arrives. Then you can use a smaller, cheaper trailer to transport it to its new home.

Ron A.,

If I don't sell it, I will use the Ultrawhite to build time and confidence, then use the heavier Subaru-powered Dominator for out of town excursions. Ultrawhites are cheaper to fix for sure.

Though, I will sell the Ultrawhite for $10,000 with the blade box, without the trailer and the $500 cover I had custom-made for it last month.
Or, one could buy a new Ultrawhite from Ernie B for $15,000. He will have 4 different machines at Bensen Days, one being an Ultrawhite.
