Angelina Jolie called me this week

I was working on Tina's gyro and got a call from Annie. She was looking for a gyro for Angelina to take a pictures in for Vogue, I couldn't believe it!!!! Annie got my phone number from Bobby Bettis, PRA chapter 31's president. She was arranging a photo shoot at Paris airpark CA, next week and wanted a gyro in the shot.

I thought about it for a minute and wondered if she would look better in my KB2 or Tina's sport copter? It was an easy decision, Tina's sport copter was what I decided.

I called Tina and told her about it and she was ready to pee her pants!!! She told her boss about it and got the day off. We were both so exited about this that we had to tell everyone we knew. Most of them wanted an autograph, and pictures.

Annie asked how much money I wanted for the trouble. I said I get paid around 100$ a hour from my job and she said I see no problem paying for your day.

She was to call me back to let me know if this was in their budget. I got a call back the next day that the shoot was canceled.I was crushed and I asked why and Annie said that Vogue thought Gyro's where dangerous. I explained to her that driving a car is dangerous with out proper training like anything. She still said sorry Vogue will not do it and thanked me for my time. I am not sure but I think Annie was Angelina.:spy:

When Dave called me at work I could not believe it, I did almost pee my pants arty: thinking what! ANGELINA and MY GYRO in VOGUE no way. I told him lets do it for free, then I thought no just ask if Brad would be there thats good enough for me.

I did read somewhere that Angelina is a pilot and she must be interested in gyros, what else gyros look like fun and exciting and she looks adventures enough to want to see what its all about. I wanted to talk with her and tell her that they can be fun with the right training and recommend she take a ride in a trainer with Jim at Sport Copter.

I guess it was not to be and the sad part is that our beloved Gyros do have a bad reputation as being dangerous. But we all know that is not true.

Years ago I was watching tv late at night,, models and something about a playmate of the month calendar..

as I was about to switch channels a gyro came screaming across a naked woman standing on the back of a flat bed truck...

It looked like Jim Eike in an open place gyro,, but it didn't show much after a few seconds..
Just the normal every day naked woman at El Mirage doin a foto shoot.

She is indeed, and owns a Cirrus. Naturally the Cirrus folks were proud and pleased about that. I believe that she looked into flying and decided to buy the Cirrus and learn in that (which is less unusual than you might think... I'd guess about 10-20% of Cirrus owners buy the plane and then learn to fly in it).

Heck, I'd have bought Vogue and let the clerks at my local Barnes and Noble think I'm... you know... (<voice="Seinfeld"> Not that there's anything wrong with that </Seinfeld>) just to get the pictures of Tina's Sport Copter. Angelina Jolie would have been a fortunate bonus

As far as Steve's recollection of the El Mirage footage... I'd probably need to see it five times to notice there's a gyro in it.

I think she's one of those movie stars over there in Hollywood.

I pretty much stopped watchin TV back in the 90's when I went to college and got too buisy.

But the Casino down here brings em in sometime for some entertainment and I guess just to look at.

As a rule those type come down here to the swamp but they for some reason think they are better than everyone else.

Maybe she is different, if she is she would be the exception.

Went to a friend (Johnny Carpenter) of the families wedding once and that Tracy Byrd sat right next to me because we, as usual was late.

That Tracy ain't much younger than me but I swear he looked like a little boy in the face.

I'd bet that sucker was a wearin makeup.

He's was pretty though and the girls liked him.

Tracy has a solid handshake though so I overlooked how pretty he was.

I never could understand why people are so attracted to these hollywood type.

Is it because they supposedly have a lot of money to give away?

I would really like to see Tina's gyro though.

Looked on the net and found some pictures of ones like hers.

I wanna see that thing!!!!!




P.S. Anyone, Tell them Vouge guys that I would have bought one of them magazines just to have a look at Tina's rig. And it wouldn't be a good thing for one of those Hollywoods to drill a hole in the ground in a gyro. If that happened the whole darn world would blame the gyro's. Keep them flakey Hollywoods away from your gyro's!!!!!

I doub't they know us too but I think it's a good thing.

Too many camera's follow them suckers and if they crash it will be a bad thing for gyro's.

Good on you, Dave.
After my wife passed, I used the opportunity to "bury" the TV. The daughter's grades improved, she's done a lot more reading, and I built the Desert Bee (not counting the saving of $35 a month ). The only thing I ever watched regularly was the weather channel at odd hours for the local stuff, and an occassional woodworking show if it caught my interest. Still enjoy woodworking, just haven't done as much since getting back into aviation. The daughter only misses TV when we have a "disagreement".

We have a TV but I basically watch CNN, History or Discovery channel.

Down here in South Louisiana it gets hot and muggy.

About four years ago my buddy finally got air conditioning in his home for the first time in his life.

They still don't have a TV.

The only reason I have a computer is because my wife is a teacher.

She kept wanting one and wanting one so we finally did it and bought a Dell.

Now she does wedsites and seminars for the school board so I guess we might pay this thing off.

You haven't missed anything by not being a couch patatoe.

She is one classy lady. I'd like to meet her sometime. I just went to a concert with Ted Nugent a couple of weeks ago. Ted rocks! Went jet skiing with John Mellencamp a few years ago. And met Kenny G at the airport a few weeks ago in his Beaver with floats
