Surprised this wasn't posted already...this happened 10 days ago.

Apparently, a new Magni driver was flying along, low over a farmers field, waving to the farmer when he hit some wires.

Fortunately he survived. Obviously the Magni did not. And yes, you get to read that high-quality aviation news reporting that we all know and love so well. </sarcasm>

Frustrating how so very often we are our own worst enemies when it comes to the perceived safety of this sport.

I read a report about it last week , it said the pilot had a bad wire cut across his neck.

Glad he survived but for the life of me I cannot fathom how ..... did he break the wire with his neck ? ... Or did it flip his head back and slide over ?? Both seem impossible unless maybe he was looking sideways or something.

There was a thread reporting this when it 1st occurred. Glad the pilot got out ok.

Yeah, it's hard for me to visualize a wire strike in a gyro turning out as anything other than a fatality. This guy need never buy a lottery ticket, he used every bit of luck he had to survive this.

All the best to him, I hope he gets another machine and learns from his mistake.

Also: just checked Greg Gremminger's website, looks like this one was going to be up for sale soon, if it's the same ship:
