I was almost to the end of my 25 mile dogleash. I landed at Frasca International just because it was there.:)

Nice pics! I have seen plenty of field burning around here lately as well.

Scott: I cant resist to go down and check out all the activity going on at ground level. I love to fly year round....but this low level stuff just never gets tiring. I can take off in any direction....and fly on a whim. If I see something to check out....coyote...deer...fire....tile holes...whatever....I get a birds eye view.

I just wont ever tire of this type of flying. The more I do...the more interesting it gets.

I like chasing egrets in the rice fields. You can herd them right along since they lead a turn with their head. Gets funny when they start looking at you over their shoulder and then freak out and split ess away.

A couple years back I was flying my 182 and saw a huge herd of elk in a field. I couldn’t resist doing a go around to see them a little closer. I came back through them at slow flight, just above antler height only to see one big bush in front of me erupt and see two hunters scramble for their lives. Bows one way and bodies the other. They must have seen their lives pass in front of them and then I did as I thought they were going to shoot me. Thank God it wasn’t rifle season.
