how many miles was on the sled that you yanked the engine out of? Do you have the wiring harness and all the black boxes? Do you have the oil tank for it, etc...?

Hi Ron

Wiring harness is there it is the stock harness that comes in the sled it has been modified to eliminate all the extras not needed, computer box and voltage regulator are there. has a custom fabricated one gallon oil tank with AN fittings and lines to attach it to the motor. also do have the old leaky stock tank. the sled had 935 miles. it was a wrecked rental. go to Homers fly in 2011 there is a video if it flying in my helicycle (Non turbo Version) the oil line fittings in the block are threaded to us AN Fittings. the flywheel/ mag end has a small pto shaft that was to be used for an aftermarket EFI crank trigger. The PTO end has a 6 bolt flange attached that was used with a V belt pulley. Can be removed if not needed.

Okay, good info, sounds like a good engine for someone looking for one of these.

How many hours were flown off the Helicycle with the Yamaha engine on it? $2500 for this engine with less than 1000 hours sounds like a really great deal.

Hi

I put 5 hrs on it in the Helicycle. I could not get enough power out of it at the RPM that I wanted to run it at.

Hello Doug,
I have run a Yamaha 120 in a fixed wing aircraft and am very interested in what RPM you wanted to run it at and why you choose that RPM.

Regards
Jason

Hi

according to the dyno chart 6000 to 6200 95 HP I needed 95 hp flew great on a cool day but when the weather got warmer it did not have the power I needed at that RPM. I had to run it a 6500 I wanted a lower RPM to make the engine last longer. running an engine in a helicopter is totally different than a fixed wing or gyro the engine runs max all the time. great little motor just not good for a helicopter of the Helicycles weight.

Just my uneducated opinion

Thanks for posting

weight

weight

EW 610
Pilot 180
fuel 50
gw840

Engines are usually rated with a correction factor. on paper it is suppose to make 95 HP @ around 6200RPM on a standard day. Take out the correction factors add in a little heat, altitude and humidity your 95HP motor now only makes 85 HP

Just my uneducated opinion

What HP does the turbine make?

This is a very interesting offer. Is there any kind of motor mount associated with the engine? Gyro wise, evidently, a conversion plate, and redrive would be required.....essentially one of Racer's packages. Any idea what shipping would be to 33403? Thank you.

Hi pilotescort

No mounts for anything. mounts are 4 rubber mounts on the engine just like it came out of the snomobile. Shipping my guess would be $150.00-$175.00
I could arrange shipping through my guys we may get a better price than the average guy due to the volume we ship. cheaper if it goes to a commercial address

Hi Doug,
Is your Yamaha 120 still available?

Thanks,
Barry
