Wrens Fall Fly-in is September 15th thru 17th! Wrens Airport, Georgia. (65J)

Again this year Georgia and Carolina are joining forces to CHALLENGE Florida, Tennessee, and EVERYONE ELSE in the country (and world) to come out and join the fun!

Last year's attendance was 26 gyros and a BUNCH of people!: https://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/ge...-everyone-else

This year, we have a goal of seeing at least 30 gyros and over 200 people!!

Please post (or PM me) if you can make it and let us know if you can bring your gyro.

The CHALLENGE is ON!... again. :whoo:

Lots of Early Birds expected on Thursday. Some even earlier!

Barry kicked off some early discussion here: https://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/ge...274-wrens-2017

Fantastic! Glad you're going to be able to make it!

By the way, saw your blog post from a few months back and congrats on becoming an official Gyro Pilot, and then a Gyro CFI in the same week!

Last year at Wrens I was still balancing on the mains and was probably ready to solo, but, Jon Carleton and I both decided to wait unit we were back in Cedartown. I soloed the following Tuesday and now have over 70 hours including around 10 hours at Bensen Days. I look forward to this year's event and getting to fly the local fields!

I plan to arrive on Thursday.

Not sure over 10,000+ logged FW, 260+ ultralights, sailplane, hang-gliders
A few of the modern gyro owners at Mentone did not know about Whens when we made the announcement and they said they are coming. The party is on!!!

Rodney... at first I thought you were talking about Chris and Fred... but they live 2 hours from Cameron. So... Same for you as for John... I need some little shred of something to go on. First names? Forum Call Sign? Gyro Type?... Something...

Party? Being Scottish, that requires a Kilt that I shall wear while in the air!

UNFORTUNATELY I will not be able to make it this year! I am still putting PYRO back together again with a brand new Weber 750 NA engine (Google it). I WILL have her ready for Barry Days in November! See yah all then, have fun at WRENS.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the WRENS "gyro con" this year, a southeastern USA rotorcraft convention event hosted by an EAA chapter - making it unique among all other large gyro cons.

Wrens gyro con rose from the ashes of what used to be known as the old Wrens ROC (Rotors over the Carolinas) after it wasted away to nothing more than just a handful of guys and half a dozen gyros showing up. Thanks to the enthusiasm of Jon Carleton and Peachstate Rotorcraft Club, and Barry Kroplin and Barnstormers, the Wrens gyro con has grown over the last few years to become a not-to-be-missed event even while the other two biggest gyro-cons lost attendance by the dozens. Not to take anything away from Mentone and Bensen Days by any means, but the location, timing, facilities, and hospitality have proven to be an ideal combination for drawing enthusiasts from a wider range than ever.

With Barnstormers in NC, Peachstate in GA, and the folks in neighboring SC (c'est moi, et. al.) and Florida, this rotorcraft convention continues to snowball and produce an association of friends, family and brotherhood unlike any other gyro con in the country today - truely southeast USA rotorcraft association at its best.

The growth of Eurotub gyroplane sales and popularity has made it possible for a greater number of long-range fly-in pilots to show up at these and other events, and their participation plays a great part of their continued success. I look forward to enjoying the return of exemplary gyros like MTO, Cavalon, Apollo, Magni, Titan X, and Tango this year, along with the legacy Dominators, Air Commands, Sport Copters and Butterflies alongside the numerous one-off machines we've come to recognize and marvel at in the past.

The Wrens southeastern rotorcraft convention is on for 2017 and don't take my word for it - go and find out for yourself why this is now on the top shelf as a not-to-missed gyro con if ever there was one.

Gator - Sorry we won't see you in September, but glad you are working hard to bring Pyro to Barry Daze. That'll give Trell even more reason to brave the ?cold? See you in November!

David - Thank you for chiming in. Glad we are going to see y'all again. Do you know if George will be bringing his HoneyBee? Have you heard from Wayne, Barney, Dewey or any of the others?

Gerg - Thanks as well for chiming in. Will you be bringing a gyro or a gyro project?

Along with the additions above, I have also added John P. for Georgia. Still trying to find out if he will be trailing the VanCraft!
