My original rotor tach took a dump due to a self oscillating op amp, just a cheap set up.
I found some new TX/RX combo's that are a much better quality with name brand semiconductors.
I'm hoping to get more than 50 hours out of this one.

So clever and a great sense of humour. I do enjoy your videos.
The refresh frequency looks nice and quick, I bought some cheap digital rpm meters on eBay and the refresh frequency is definitely lacking.

Nice one Jake, sure seems alot of electrical test equipment for just a hobbyist was that your profession or just an interest.

As a child I was pretty rambunctious and did poorly in academic schools.
All of my education was collected at Technical Trade schools, welding, electronics, math and dimensional drawings.
These skills supplied me with much pleasure a amusement.
If I wanted something, I built it, as I still do today.
Some folks talk the talk but never take the time to enlighten themselves and never produce anything from scratch.
We have very few home builders, but we do have plenty of assemblers who are proud and say they built their gyro.
Bolt A in hole A, prefab, "Ikea" gyroplanes.
Brian Jackson is building a gyro from scratch and is very inspiring to follow.
Unique Ideas backed by research and a finished product.
That is building and fabricating from scratch not assembling from an instruction book.
Without my skills I could not be a Fabricator or Innovator I would be an assembler.

Hi, Jake. Nice to hear you kicking. I planed to use the idea of a wireless doorbell ($18.99) for my cheap wireless rotor tach and was trying to figure out the pick-up placement. But then I saw your tach video. Unless you plan a commercial product, would you mind to share with me your schematics? I swear here on Forum not to use it beyond my office desk.
Thank you and wish you Well. Georgi
P.S. Originally I posted a wrong Wireless Doorbell model. Sorry.
