I am flying the gyro in from Western Missouri. I will hook up with another in the St. Louis

area for the final leg. Plan to arrive Thursday.

I've got 3 maybe 4 of us coming 7th -9th.

We all hope to get at least an hour of flight instruction each day.

Is anyone going to, for sure, be their giving instruction?

My plan is to fly the Bonanza to Warsaw, get a rental car and drive down. I expect to arrive Thursday morning...that implies decent weather. Alas, no gyros accompanying me. Until there is a folding version of a gyro that will fit in a light aircraft, or until I have one with some range capability, I'll have to just manage as a ground-dweller at the event.

John, it is often difficult to get training on the days you mentioned. You may want to call whoever the CFI is you want training from to help assure it will happen. Generally on those days the CFI's are giving lots of demo rides and the pattern at Mentone is busy. There are nearby airports where you can do touch and go's with a bit less traffic.

Thanks John, also I'm not beneath begging, pleading, I only draw the line with crying like a little girl.

I am 95% going! I haven't been to Mentone before, plus I am going to truck my single place gyro down there for a flight airworthiness sign off. I'm up here in SE Michigan so it should take me about 3.5 hours to drive down there. Hopefully the weather stays good. Hope to see you all there..

Ron,

I considered that. I don't know how difficult it may be to get a rental car in Mentone. Odd as it seems, I know the Warsaw airport and facilities. I was there last year (a week before Mentone '07) for a nephew's wedding and know the hotels, and that Enterprise Rent-A-Car has a deal with the Warsaw airport that makes it really easy to drop the keys at the FBO and go. I may change my mind, but that's the plan at the moment.

Ron almost, almosted....that was close....

Ron it sounded like you had a mature adult thought there for just a moment (really had me worried there for a moment) and it "sounded" like you were giving serious thought to putting your family first for once, of course I mean your "gyro" family. Screw those people you live with !:whip:

Give some hugs to Kasey and your wonderful wife Shannon for me !

Maybe might make it to Wrens but nothing is in sand yet.

I'm going to be there Friday, and part of Saturday. The doctor has cleared me for going, but I'll be the guy on crutches hanging around the Magni/Chapter 35 tent.

Hope to see some familiar faces again!
