Here's a common glider implementation - see the red lever atop the panel glareshield. Not something likely to be deployed accidentally.

The canopy itself is very low mass, and I expect you could push it away pretty easily with your feet if on its side.

P.S. note the white lablel on the right canopy edge showing the normal release for routine opening.

As I understand it some gliders have this mechanism so a pilot in the air can parachute out if glider gets out of controls during maneuvers or similar factors. It is not for the ground for a rolled over on its head glider. Though I don't think gliders roll over on their canopies a lot. They got a long wing preventing that from happening. It is not the weight of the canopy. It would be the pressure of the gyro weight resting partially on the canopy that one would have to push against

We have different expectations. If the weight applied is not enough to break the canopy, I imagine that once it is unattached and need not flex along a hinge line against that weight but merely slide along the ground enough to make an escapable opening, pushing it to separate is not asking all that much.

P.S. The most common glider bailout reason is mid-air collision.

I understand your idea about sliding along the ground. I don't think it is easy to escape. I may be wrong but I can tell you breaking the canopy is a 15 second job with the right tool.
