Hello everyone. I'm looking for a set of old/damaged rotor blades for cheap, (possibly free?) in the South-East Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. One or both (or three+?) can be damaged anywhere from the tip to within say 8 feet of the root, as they will be cut down.

Naturally, folks want to know what someone will be doing with such things before selling or giving away such items that have the ability to inflict injury and/or death. I do not have any intention of using them for flight. They would be used for a homebuilt power windmill. Any leads can be posted here or feel free to shoot me an e-mail at: rreidnauer (at) comcast.net

Sorry for the indirect email link, gotta do what you can to avoid e-mail phishers.

Thanks! Rod

Yea, I hear that! Litterally. A few years back, I witnessed a guy screw up in a gyro, and he hit the ground very hard. The crazy part was he kept goin' and took off again. After his flight, we all inspected it. The prop tips were chewed up, as well as the bottom of the rotor blades where the prop arc intersects. It goes to show you they are tough, but still, it wouldn't have been a risk I would have taken.

I should add that I prefer gyro blades over helicopter, but I won't be picky. Anyhow, I'm sure there must be wrecked blades available out here somewhere.

Thanks

I have a set of 28' Rotordynes. They are still flyable. I just got tired of trying to get all the shake out of them. I bought a set of Sport Rotors instead.

I'll let them go for $500.

A couple of years ago I gave a set of beat up Bensen blades to Craig Wall --if you could locate him he may part with them -- he was going to use them on a boom trainer ---

Ehhh, I hate to cut up a set of flyable blades just for my experimenting Chuck. Hopefully I can find what is considered not much use to anyone, and do a bit of "responsible recycling."
