uAvionix echoUAT is getting mandated updates...

This month at EAA AirVenture, uAvionix is offering the chance to pick up your echoALT and receive hands-on training on how to complete the installation and updates right at the event!
This is an opportunity to:
  • Collect your echoALT directly from our support tent (#195A).
  • Get personalized training from our expert team.
  • Ensure your system is set up correctly and efficiently.
To help us plan and provide the best service possible, please let us know ASAP if you would like to take advantage of this opportunity. Simply fill out the Google Form linked below to indicate your interest in picking up your echoALT at AirVenture.

If someone you know is interested in signing up for an echoALT and hasn't received an email, please forward this to them!
Please note: if you're not planning to pickup, estimated delivery time for your echoALT is 4-6 months. We look forward to seeing you there and assisting you with your echoALT needs. Thank you for your patience!

Brent,
Is this what you're looking for? Link to update instructions...... https://uavionix.com/update-echouat-wi-fi-software/
Be certain you don't update until the unit is connected and in place.
Wasn't sure what you meant by 'wire-by-wire'. Hope this will clear it up for you.

Chris, just found my order...Placed Jan. 30th. so, almost 4 months.

Thanks Mark

I responded to that notice ...I have been waiting SIX MONTHS for my units , I know of people who have received their unit who applied about the SAME TIME - I am still waiting my turn in the shipping-line!

NOW - you are going to make me wait longer - in preference for those who go to Oshkosh! - get to jump to head of line!

NO - FULFIL YOUR CURRENT APPLICATIONS FIRST!

I just received mine last week. I filled out the request when Uavionx first sent out the notice. I can't remember exactly when it was but I think it was the beginning of the year.

Received mine today. Hopefully get it installed this weekend :)

Mine were waiting for me when I got home from Mentone!

Huh, looking at the instructions I might not have to do anything:

My transponder was on a really old version of the software (5.something) so I installed the EchoAlt - a software upgrade is like $500 and needs the transponder to go back to Germany, so maybe not. It took no time at all once I'd taken the panel off, and I generally find that's easier if I've taken the windshield off, so...

The software update's painless from your phone and after a restart you can see your altitude and the GPS altitude (@Brent Smith it showed 100' for KLHM and 250' on the GPS) in the EchoUAT app.

If you'd like my help (I have the files on my phone...) grab me any time you see me at the airport :)

Mine came yesterday.

Less than 2 minutes for the physical install and about 5 minutes for the software updates.

Pretty painless

Jim

Well I just installed one - replaying the video /pausing over & over - while I waited for software downloading! Hope I got it right - I suppose I'll see something different next flight????
The physical install - super easy & I loomed up all the wiring coils into a neat tube, zipped tied off! Not so sure about the updates I got a device 1 restart but no confirmation for device 2! ????

Going to wait for a cool off in the shop to do the other!

I’m using the trig mode s transponder and the trig tn72 gps in source. I have a syyfx for sale if anyone needs one. Never used.
Mike

I tested the ADS-B results at https://adsbperformance.faa.gov/PAPRRequest.aspx, and in the Echo Monitor app on your phone, you should see something under:
Altitude, Pressure

if it's working.
Gotta give a big shoutout and 'thank you' to Schmoe for helping finish the installation and programming of my uAvionix upgrade while at the Lincoln Wings & Wheels yesterday. He completed in minutes what would have taken me, well, an unknown amount of time to complete. You da man, Schmoe!

Why did you decide to go with the TN72 instead of getting the echoUAT + SkyFYX?
