I'm not a pilot but have been lucky enough to fly in Mi-24 Hind, Mi-2, Mi-17, Lynx HAS3, Gliders, GA
Another day dawns and another when my national news coverage leads with Trump - probably has done 18 out of those first 24 days ( daze ).

Flynn's gone - ""President Donald Trump's national security adviser, Michael Flynn, resigned late on Monday after revelations that he had discussed U.S. sanctions on Russia with the Russian ambassador to the United States before Trump took office and misled Vice President Mike Pence about the conversations.""

Raises lots of questions - who knew, who knew what, who asked him to raise this mater, who did he report back too after the meeting etc

It's a story that may well run and run, it could take an age before the whole story out. Just 24 days in before deception, lies and resignations.

I mentioned before that I have my doubts that Trump will see out his 4 years-
the odds have just got shorter.

Plenty of other issues bubbling on the stove too so no doubt more drama coming soon. Suspect Kellyanne may not have too long to go either

Sounds like someone is doing their job or this would not have been found out, after all there is a phase about wolf in sheep's clothing. It didn't take 8 years and nothing was done about it.

This falls into the yawn category. By the sounds of it, the problem is likely the scandal potential for not telling the truth during a confirmation hearing. And at this time it sounds like the conversation with Russia didn't involve any commitment to change any policy. A conversation, which if it happened last week would have been 100% legal and appropriate in all ways.

Flynn did the right thing, resigned and preserved the office, unlike others that dragged it through the mud. 8 years are going to flyby so fast the snow flurries will spin dry.

(He's our President go get your own!...........;p)

I was under the impression our sprawling and top heavy bureaucratic .gov has dozens if not hundreds of people talking with ambassadors around the globe smoothing things over putting together deals, playing political chess...I would hope our bureaucrats were taking to their counterparts around the world defusing situations and making the world a safer place. Letting Flynn go was a mistake. Every time they bark is Trump going to keel haul someone in his admin ?, a bad idea...The mainstream media’s sudden concern for Flynn having potentially violated the Logan Act is interesting given that establishment politicians have been violating the Logan Act for decades by physically meeting with foreign officials at Bilderberg conferences, without a whimper of dissent from the press.

Steve- What was your thoughts when President Ovomit had an unknown hot mike on and was saying to Putin..."wait till after the election"...and basically we can deal then.

It a disgrace what a short memory the socialist libbies have.

Trump is a wrecking ball and both parties need smashed apart.

Trump may very well go through others until he finds the right ones.

If Trump would quit that stupid name calling of leftist babies...they wouldn't be filling their diapers so much.

Now, Trump was steadfastly for making Jerusalem the capital, and helping see Israel be a one state. Now I see he is waffling on that with too many liberals having input.

I hope he does what he says he would on this matter. If not, all bets are off if we try to divide Israel.

Let's talk about politics in the UK. How is your medical care paid for ?

What is Brexit & why ?

From outside the FOX bubble;

From outside the FOX bubble;

When you have no official standing, and are merely a private citizen, you may not engage in foreign policy activity.
It is flat out illegal, apparently.
In an earlier time, this might have been called treason, or at least, subversion.

Fired by 2 presidents!! Quite an achievement.

Draining the Swamp:

Step 1. Add a fresh supply of the biggest alligators you can find.
Step 2. eehhh..............Watch this space..... Oh Yeah, remove all the safety fences.
Step 3. Muddy the water real good.
Step 4. T.B.A.

Are you sure he isn't just creating a nature reserve for alligators??

There used to be a joke about a military officer about whom it was said that his men would follow him anywhere.............if only to see what happened....

I have to admit, it's not boring. Scary, but not boring.

Guys, this is a non political forum, let it stay that way.

I like you all, even if some of your views are clearly divergent from mine, but let's stay on our common passion, the gyro-flying. By the way, have you finally started your license, Steve?

And let us not forget the carnage at Bowling Green. Sorry, couldn't resist. :)

Kai.

???

???

Hi Kai, My understanding is that the political stuff is OK as long as it stays
civilised and respectable.

My feeling was that, so far, that was the case.

If the mods or Todd would prefer no politicals at all, I will of course abide by that.

Perhaps Mike, Ron or Todd would give us the current view from above.

And let us not forget the carnage at Bowling Green. Sorry, couldn't resist. :)

On a more serious note, dispute and turmoil is common enough in political life. But the present situation in the US is definitely far from normal.

For a US president to fire the chief legal counsel to the US government, or for his national security advisor, a man with access to the most sensitive secrets of the US government, be subject to a counterintelligence investigation, then be denied a required security clearance by the CIA.

It is completely new for a US president to express doubt about NATO, while watching Russia’s continuing annexation the Ukraine, or, to have conservative Western European governments question US policies and have some in them question Mr. Trump addressing their parliaments.

These are not partisan fears, but serious political considerations that go to the core of America’s ability to govern itself, provide security to its own citizens, and continue to lead the Western world.

The US is currently at one of the most serious points in its political history. Any person, Democrat or Republican at the present time who exploits the current crisis for political gain, is playing with the safety of more than just the USA.

Mr. Trump must take stock, and consider perhaps, a little more caution and prudence in his undoubtedly hugely difficult task, together with a new and inexperienced administration.

It would be fair to say that his entrance has been watched by the world with critical eyes, and, that his initial actions as President have caught everyone’s attention.

It is now sincerely hoped for the worlds sake that he does not slip off the tightrope he walks and get his most vulnerable parts subjected to some serious hurt, because that pain will be also be experienced by millions around the globe.

Several years ago, the political discussions here got out of control and alot of people got nasty with each other, and the focus on the forum for that time period became NOT gyros, but picking sides and going to war with each other in the off topic threads.

Todd and I talked about it and decided to stop all political discussion here. Doing so hurt a few peoples feelings and by holding our line we ended up losing some members who went all wolverine-ish and started some skywolf forum place to post bunny pictures at..... But THIS forum became friendly and civil again and warm and welcoming, and gyro and rotorcraft discussion was again the big topics here, as intended.

As for today and what is allowed... There has been no talk between Todd and Mike and myself as far as do we want to allow politics on the forum again. I know personally, myself, I have seen threads, much like this one, start on the forum and Ive come in and looked around and since I saw that everyone was civil with each other, I left them active and let them run their course. I figure Todd and Mike probably feel the same way. Contrary to what some believe, we don't want to censor what is posted here. We just don't want non flying topic to overwhelm the forum and to split us up and divide us here.

So sure, discuss away.... Just be mindful that IF it gets carried away and people start name calling, attacking, and being bullies to one another.... The thread is likely to get shut down or deleted, and also there is a good chance the bully could end up banned for a while. Discuss away and be respectful of one another and all is good as far as I am concerned.

SteveUK, thanks, but we already have news outlets that are pushing your agenda. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc., etc. I'll take your odds on Trump not making it four years. In fact, I'll bet you $100 that Trump will go 8 years. If you accept, when he gets re-elected, you donate $100 to your favorite charity, take a picture of the donation, and post it on this thread. I'll do likewise if he doesn't. What do you say?

I agree with Ron on this.
