tracing origin of engine build

Hi everyone out there in gyro land.
Could any one of you with the great knowledgeyou seem to have. Is it possible to trace the builder of my brock 1835 vw engine from its crankcase number. I know that two firms built engines for Brock in the 1980,s.Thank s in anticipation.Diadave.

I've travelled this road myself recently and while I'm no expert, I may have some answers. If you're referring to the raised numbers on the bottom of the block, other than where the block was cast they will be little help.

I used the prop hub on my engine to help identify it as a HAPI build. It was confirmed here by Jake that HAPI did build engines for Brock in the 80's so I'm fairly confident that's what I have.

If you can post a couple pictures it may help with identification.
