Went for a late afternoon flight and remembered to take my camera. They're fairly small photos, so should download easily for everyone.

Heading back home and the start of my Kamikaze dive to the runway from about 3 miles straight out. Final goes between the "Twin Peaks" to the left and Rattlesnake Mountain to the right. If you look closely at the first pic, you can see the Twin Peaks in front of Rattlesnake Mountain. That's where I'm headed, to fly between them. Scares the bejeebers out of first time visitors.

Yep, that's 90 m.p.h indicated in nearly level flight and I held it all the way to the runway! Some woman was breathing down my neck in a Cherokee. O.K., O.K., she was several miles behind me.......but she did sound kinda mean, so I wasn't going to take any chances.

Next series of shots are on final. I was heading into the sun. It's at the top of the windscreen.

Gettin closer. Can't figure out why the flash was going off with the camera directly into the sun.

aka Ken - forever the optimist - can see airstrips everywhere.
Are gyros allowed to fly over built up areas over there? Here we have to stay within gliding distance of the outer limits.

Our laws allow experimental aircraft to fly over congested areas and in congested airways.....provided, one is able to glide safely in the event of a power failure without doing any damage or causing any injury to those on the ground. So if you land safely in someone's back yard without hitting anything, you're O.K. If you land on the street and your whirling blade nicks a parked car, then you're in trouble.

Hey Ken,
Those landing strips look as if they were golf courses. Is it allways as hazey out there ?
