OK you electrical whizzes out there, I need help.
the Dom has a electric trim motor that is a push-pull motor, it has two wires coming out of it, you hot one wire ground the other rod goes up, you switch the hot and ground, the rod goes down. I called Ernie, he explained the wiring to me, I hung up the phone and went blank.
The hot and ground to the motor are switched at the switched, what kind of toggle do I need, and how do you wire it.

PLEASE SOME ONE HELP

ELECTRICLY CHALLENGED :help:

Jay, I believe a DPDT toggle switch is what is needed.
It has a center off position and two ON positions for up/down.

The wiring is equivalent in both images below.

Would a DPDT with "OFF" position be a better choice?!

Or, a DPDT "Momentary On" both poles".

Cheers :)

Momentary on dbdt switches can be hard to find a lot of places. In a pinch I've used a normal on off on one and just held the switch for a second and moved back to off.

Jay,

In my 2007/2008 Catalog of Aircraft Spruce, on page 452 is the switch I think is what you want.

It is an MS27719-27-1..............AS Part no. 11-00782

DPDT, mom on-off-mom on. 28 VDC-115 VAC. Price $22.85

Hope this solves your dilemma.

Cheers :)

Echlin No. TG 7071, $12.00 dollars.

Good deal Jay if that inner spring will hold up for many cycles.

Over the years I'd seen the inner spring fail on a lot of MS switches and being an MS part, it was purported to be the best.

Cheers :)
