I had one of the long bolts that holds the starter motor together snap off right at the thread. I am glad that I had my prerotator engagement cable wire tied to it! (no stress load) That prevented it from going through the prop. Also because the motor sprung it would not crank over, that's when I found it.<br><br> Auto Zone happily swapped it with one that looked like it had all new hardware installed. But I still pulled the bolts, locktited them & torqued them properly. Then I safety wired everything I could.<br><br> Does anyone have any ideas on how to make these more airworthy ?<br><br> Or how about a lighter starter?<br><br> That's alot  of weight hangin out there, & if it goes through your prop............. :-/
