Hi folk, Just a thought. If I have a CTL or below center mass thrust line configuration, is horizontal stablizer still necessary?

In my opinion a horizontal will make any gyroplane easier to fly, regardless of the thrust line in relation to the center of gravity.

I my experience a horizontal stabilizer with sufficient volume will help to dampen pitch excursions and reduce pilot work load.

In my experience, too, an effective HS makes even a LTL gyro much easier to fly. It creates a "crisper" feel in the controls. There is less time lag in the aircraft's response to pitch commands.

I Think that HS is compulsory. If you don´t fit it, sometimes you can have an unstable behavior in your gyro copter...

Necessary? There could perhaps be some argument about that.
Wise? Absolutely, and beyond reasonable dispute.
