Should I cover the bottom of my inst. pod to get beter results on my airspeed and VS?

right now it is open on the bottom and fitted over the open section on my outer pod/cabin so it gets a rush of air right into it.

Tim;

Make it static by whatever means possible. C. Beaty's pitot tube suggestions would be the best route. Eliminating any air current around the static port of the ASI would be the way to go, if you don't go the pitot tube route.

Just a thought, C Beaty!! How would a plastic plug cover, with a small hole in it, covering the static port of the ASI, work?
