I am not able to see the Hobbs. Looks like a winner. How many hours on it? I know it says 'new', but I think that applies to the brakes and wheels.

At the day of posting the ad the gyro had 8 hours on it, now - 16. It needs another 24 hours to complete Phase I testing. It is getting cold here to fly an open gyro, so I'm not sure 40 hours will be flown before next spring.

Does it qualify as an ELSA and does it already have an N number with the hours flown off? Or does it fall under the optional primary category aircraft certification?

The gyro is certificated as Experimental Amateur Built (EAB). It is registered, and has N-number which you can see on one of the photos above.
The Phase 1 flight testing 40 hours hopefully will be completed before Bensen Days.

I think the only thing not to like might be the price: $7,800 is about 10% of what I paid for my whole gyro!
But I really like the ground-adjustment mechanism, and my original Arplast/Magni prop blades are starting to get a bit chewed up after nearly five years of flying off turf and gravel. So I might take the plunge this winter.
