SOLD-582 gyro for sale

Well all good things come to an end.
I'm selling my 582 gyro because of health issues.
I can no longer load, unload the gyro with out help.
23 foot Skywheels
It's a 582 Blue Head bought brand new from Lockwood with all the paper work.
The engine has 10 hours on it.
Only Amsoil Interceptor has ever been used.
It has a hydraulic belt driven prerotator with a duel v-belt drive.
C-box 2.262:1 with a clutch.
A brand new GPL electric start
Magellan GPS, brand new
Air band transceiver, brand new
Zulu Light Speed ANR headset.
MGL engine monitor, brand new
No trailer $13K
Buyer has to wash the gyro, it comes dirty !!!

I've watched your build posts and the later refinements, so I know it's
probably the best light gyro ever - the pinnacle of your building career.

I would be proud to own it - but I already have my hands full.
If any justice exists, it should be gone in a heartbeat...

John, come on! you don't need a caption, It makes you look weak, you don't have to hide from anyone. Sometimes I don't agree with you, but I like to read what you have to say. If you have an opinion or idea you have the right to express it, right wrong or otherwise, if you get lambasted for it, so be it.

The answer to my last questions about water landings helped scare 3% of the public as reported to Vance and me. "They are now scared of gyros!! Two NEW pilots out of about 20 (that's 10%) at the fly-in said "They are now scared to fly out of their airport because of Vance's opinion on how undependable they are and the others pros agreed with him by the time I stop reading flying treads.

He was only trying to stop me from flying to Catalina, not the entire world.
Because he really does care about me, calls me, helps me all of the time and I still consider him a good friend. I forgive instantly!!!

Why = the final reason not to fly over water = "The 4 stroke Rotax engines will quit at any time because they are installed by amateurs." Their opinion means anywhere at any time. (I do not agree with the pros on this, just hire an A&P to install and maintain the engine)

My gyro questions interactions with Vance to my posts are now in instilling physiological fear in the world and for the first time helping drive people away. I cannot be the cause of driving people out of our sport.
1st do no harm!!! My questions here are causing harm!!!
Better to not share anything about my gyro experiences, until really trained and I do not need any questions answers about emergency landings, than cause harm!!

A pilot 150lbs to 200lbs, this machine preforms very well.
It's economical in price cause I want to buy a metal building and put on my property, evacuate my shop and use it for storage.

Thank you, Dave... The talking part is done. I'll post pictures, like flying over the snake river. I'll gladly trade my life for an adventure that apparently few gyro pilots will ever know = flying through canyons, and over the sake river.
Discussing my training today for trips over a year from now like to Catalina is confusing folks that I'm flying there tomorrow before the Rotax 915 fleet has enough time on them to find all the problems/AD's?

I've only fired the head cheerleader from asking questions on planning for trips in my future and threads where my question will have Vance protecting me and condemning Rotax 900 series as being less dependable than certified aircraft that do have engines outs too.
But those are either within a couple of hours where parts like the pin that holds the oil pump were not installed at the factory on one NEW engine install my brother did in 40 years and most of the others were flying close to1000 hours over TBO and or bad maintenance. My observations over the last ten years are this is the same as the Rotax 4 stroke engines.

New parts...over DOUBLE what Jake is asking. Just about everything on it is almost new.

Because those rotorblades are not available anymore, one needs currently available ones to figure that cost comparison.

And, the Rotax 582 is not available shortly (when dealer's stock runs out), but parts should be readily available for many years. Possibly far-less expensive Rotax parts from the snowmobile-side of things, like Scott Essex & others have found.

One could buy Jake's gyroplane & fly it for decades w/out needing to replace any components.
Pilot-error would the only reason for the need to replace anything (such as a fellow not remembering all that he was taught by a gyro-CFI).

I have to tip my hat to Jake's rudder being airfoil shaped (his innovation) to improve flight characteristics of gyros, as well as his nose wheel strut (also his innovation) that provides shock absorbency. His use of an additional strut underneath the gyro air frame that runs from mast to nose wheel (ala Butterfly gyros) is certainly another innovation that adds value & strength to the machine.

Hydraulic prerotator? Those are usually able to pre-rotate faster & to higher rotor rpms than Wunderlich-style systems & certainly far-higher rpms than a battery system.

So, I would rate his gyro w/ even more value than a bare bones currently available gyro, whether in kit form or plans built. NOT COUNTING LABOR!
The other available single place machines are much higher in price, also, w/ many innovations being the reason for the higher prices.

I gave serious consideration to buying it, but have too many gyro projects already. It is a steal @ his asking price, just like Carl Schneider's Carlinator was @ $10K! I didn't have the available funds then...

I personally don't monitor rotor RPM but I have seen 180 with no problem.
In flight I've seen 310 to 380.
The only reason I know, my wireless rotor tach is on this machine for testing

I am excited to report that this incredible gyro is now safely in the hands of Peach State Rotorcraft member Wayne P.

We cruised down to Jake's last weekend to pick her up and, more importantly, to hang with Jake... and his current 'pet...' a one-winged Florida Black Vulture named Joni!

We got to experience the legendary 'JakeWorks' workshop first-hand while getting pointers on the gyro, and loading 'er up. Next, we helped Jake with a chore or two... checked-out his home airport, Everglades Airpark... and also the site where National Geo filmed Jake's Mad Scientists episode... Lake Placid... and the adjacent - now condemned - restaurant, complete with collapsed balcony. We did all this and more between two breakfasts and a lunch that couldn't be beat at Jake's fav - Island Café. Good place if you're ever in Everglades City!

Anyway, I'm stoked that Jake's last TWO creations have found their way into Peach State Rotorcraft hangars. First mine in 2016 and now this one! Woo hoo!

Wayne is well on his way to some FUN flyin'!!!
