Hi all, it's the rotor dummy back with more silly off the wall questions only a newbie like me can ask. Today's quiz is about rotor brakes. Why use a rb? When is a rb utilized? Is it used every time you go out? How much do they weigh, how complicated are they to install, and how much do they cost and who makes the best one? The first person to answer all questions gets a box of Honey Crisp apples mailed directly to their doorstep. No kidding just provide address (no international sales, sorry). Thank ya'll. MJD

It is not good to allow your rotors to spin around people at all. They will run up to your gyro without regard to the rotor. Also in windy conditions it is necessary to slow down the rotor to stop it. It is safer to stop the rotor with a brake than by hand.
Since the brake only puts drag on the disc and not lock it when applied. they are probably about the same in efficiency. Tom Milton has about the simplest one to use. unless you have a Butterfly, Then see what King Chocolate is using.
