Outfitting a new enclosed trailer for AR-1. Anybody tried using water ski racks, or something similar to mount disassembled rotors on the interior wall? I don't water ski, nor do any neighbors so can't see how difficult to adapt, or just build one!

Yup... use snowboarding racks, those work like a charm. I tested them trailering from Florida to California, and from Ohio to California...

...and you will need two racks per blade, so plan on purchasing two sets.

This is for inside an enclosed trailer. Have pictures?

I would use 12" shelf brackets, 3 per blade. Mount a 1x3 board on each bracket and cover the board with a piece of carpet or towel. Use bungy cords to secure the blades to the brackets.

You can get polyethylene plank foam in various thicknesses, I would use 1". The plank is usually 9'x4.5' and it is less than $40, cuts with a knife and contact cement holds it well. Also a good insulation for trailers, Rvs. etc.
Find a local packaging supply biz.....

I have padded socks slipped over the blades and lay them flat on the floor. If you put them on an elevated rack they will take the shock in 3 places instead of the whole blade and they can't fall off the rack or something suspended from the ceiling. This works for me, hauled 1100 miles day before yesterday all good. Racks look good though.

Made a few sets of these years ago.. Maybe time to make another batch.
Blade hangs from the nylon strap, the foam lined clamps then hold things secure.
Pretty slick, what keeps the trailing edge from damage if the blade bounces up? My trailer has inside fenders to go over so a spacer or taller bracket would be needed to anchor bracket to floor and wall? What about safety pins to prevent accidental opening? My blades are 9 inch yours are less?
Blade socks are not easy to slip on and off if they are tight like mine.

These are just for 7" blades. I could make a larger version if there was a demand.
The foam compresses enough to prevent the blades from bouncing up, and there is a taper where the latch pin closes. The foam would have to compress further to allow unintentional opening. Hard to tell from the video...

More 9 inch than 7 on todays new machines.

But the 7" blades are what Gyro Technic is selling. Our single place machines love them. Same concept would work fine for larger blades.

The trailer I have has the blade boxes mounted on the wall done by Tommy Milton.
