When purchasing a currently registered Helicycle what FAA work is involved ? How complex of a process is it? Nothing is typically easy with the government.

Also for those who currently own what are the time out for components? There is currently a Helicycle listed for sale on Barnstormers with 1200 TT . How close is that to being requirement for parts replacement?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Some states, like Florida, do not have the continued sting of the Property/Advalorem Tax except for business property.

Heliboy,

For clarification......there is no "time-out" or "mandatory replacement" for any component on any experimental aircraft.....helicopter or fixed wing.

All components are inspected and replaced "on condition." I was told or read somewhere that B. J. Schramm designed the components on the Helicycle to go 2000 hours. I think Homer Bell also confirmed this when I talked to him at Oshkosh a couple of years ago.

I am the owner of the Helicycle you mentioned in your post that you saw on Barnstormers.

It is also listed on this forum in the "for sale" section. The turbine and main transmission was replaced a few years back so they have less total time.

Call or email me if you have any questions.
