Propeller speed and efficiency

With all due respect, Bryan, this thread is not about my engine decision. And your rant is exactly the reason I didn't want to mention it on this forum in the first place. I'd prefer to keep this thread discussion to my propeller/gear ratio questions.

I apologize. When I have conversations in person, I scatter my discusion a little and I have to be hit with a 2x4 on forums sometimes to keep from doing that here. Forum threads need to stay close to the topic. I ask you to give me another chance.

The problem is that you do not want a 3cyl engine with a 3:1 gearbox and a 3 bladed prop..That is a bad setup for harmonic vibration.
 
Glenn, I had a 3 blade warp drive, cut down from 72 inches to 69 inches. I don't recall why I changed the ratio. All I know is I changed it and noticed no change in performance, but less noise and vibration. I would use the 3.47 to one if you have the choice
