Guys this isn’t a typical gyro post. However, I wanted to share with my gyro friends what I recently discovered.
I received notice that my personal information along with thousands of others was compromised. I went to the websites for the three credit agencies and froze my credit. It wasn’t difficult but did take some time. I also joined the free credit karma app as it provides alerts.
I received an alert that my Social Security number was located on the dark web. I found a Clark Howard article on how to lock your SSN. I opened a free government account at “my E verify”. I was able to lock my SSN to avoid its use.
Anyway, all of this took about 2 hours off and on. I wanted to pass this along for you guys to consider doing. Two hours is nothing compared to the time it would take to ferret out an identity theft case.

My wife and I had the same thing happen, thanks for the tip on the ssn. Had already taken care of all 3 credit agencies.

Do the SSN first or you can't verify identity with the credit agencies,
smiles,
Charles
