Personal Attacks.

Im not starting an argument with anyone or anything.
In the past you have expressed to me personally that you don't "get" my particular sense of humor. Okay.
Thebpost in question was not in my opinion political, it was highlighting the difference Tyger pointed out in the previous post (not deleted) that titles do not necessarily correspond to abilities.
I noticed I got a love emoji from Smack and when my post was deleted, so too was my love emoji and my possible social credit score has now been affected!
Vance, this CANNOT STAND good sir!! To paraphrase one of our founding fathers "Give me my emoji scores or give me death!"
We here on Guam don't have much to live for what with NK constantly sabre rattling and my only joy in my otherwise dreary existance is my Emoji Score on RWF and of course eagerly awaiting my next issue of Cat Fancier magazine....
Please oh please moderators do not let your intentions to sterilize these pages lead to the inability to express our north esstern sense of humor for all the world to share.

Ben, we - the unknown are with you. The voice of a good human from such a distant Guam ( where the time difference makes people even more sensitive to any dictatorship) reached us again. Be strong. Meanwhile, inspired by your struggle for molecules of the Forum freedom, I declare, that anybody will be allowed to make any remarks about me. I will stop posting on this thread for Vances sake. But keep in mind, a LOT of us people from the US know each other personally and this forum is a way to keep in touch with our buddies. We are not all nameless faceless people posting to strangers on the internet.

But yes by all means Mods, let's close this thread.

I have no problem with Vance or anybody being a moderator and welcome the effort to moderate some of the threads. I also understand those who fear some sort of censorship.

To avoid the accusation that a moderator was being power crazy of biased would it be possible to have an icon that we could click on to say we think a post should be removed. Then after a certain number of clicks (to be decided) the moderator could remove the post without having to make the decision alone.

There is already a "Report" link at the lower left of each post.
 
When Kevin or I log in we have a line at the top for the approval queue and reports. My hope is people will report posts about politics or personal attacks because we won't read every post looking for trouble. Sometimes things are reported and not deleted because we don't agree so please say what it is that you are reporting. Sometimes I need to look through a different window. Thank you.

The off topic threads were, in my opinion a major distraction from this Forum. I've always felt that posts along those lines should not be allowed. Now they aren't, I think this has helped.

I moderate a sailboat forum and it was never out of control like RWF was awhile back. Terms of Service spell it out pretty clearly.

There are plenty of outlets for politics, conspiracy theories, religion, etc.

I don't see an "Off-Topic" forum. It appears to me Off-Topic was removed because it didn't work well.

What some people did that wanted to write about politics and be abusive is they started their own forum. Todd sees no reason to advertise it on the Rotary Wing Forum so if you want to promote it please do it in private messages. I believe it is still operating.

There are lots of forums on the internet that are devoted to politics and/or combative interactions.

Not so long ago one person got too emotional in describing what a piece of wonder you are. The peculiar thing by the way: among all members, you are practically the only person, who gets in such, not filled with love situations. Maybe it is a fit of jealousy, that you have so much to say? 17,093 posts! If a post per day then it takes 46 years and 303 days! My God, you gave people more than half of your life of opinions. But there are always ungrateful ones in the crowd. I wish our beloved and very respectable Chuck B., Doug R., Earnie B, and some others were less lazy and more responsible and feel a little bit ashamed when looking at their posts numbers. I really love to read and reread their Posts. They never ask for an opinion, because they know in what part of the lower body those opinions are stored. They ask what do you know and what did you learn from your experience. And that is what they share with us: Their incredible knowledge and unique experiences.
Well, back to the too emotional and not loving person. After his post, there was some silence. And what a strange moment (which I kind of regret): it was me, the first person, who tried to calm Him down. But I can not find that post now. Was it removed? Why? Who allowed to do so? I threw my fragile body under the "emotional raging tank" and...?! Where are praises and interviews with other honorable members of the Forum elite? Or even pictures together, open admirations, etc? The question is very simple: who is trying to sabotage my Hollywood career?!

It looks to me Todd is a big, intelligent person who has freely given us this place to meet and exchange valuable information. But he does not have
the time to run it much. So he MUST delegate the neccessary "policing" to some people, who give of THEIR time. And some of us give a small
sum to ease Todds financial burden. No free lunch ever.

I also simply love and cherish the valuable posts from Chuck Beaty and Doug Riley, for instance. Always well thought out posts and never any
attacks. But we can't MAKE them post more than they're willing to. We haven't hired them.

And I often read posts of flights with pictures and watch videos when I can't fly myself. I'm still a student, although solo is not far away.

I don't think Doug Riley is lazy - he writes knowledgeable answers when needed. And Vance writes of his flights and hope someone will
enjoy them and maybe learn of his errors. We don't have to read them. All in all, I wouldn't do without this forum, but it does require nice
behaviour from all of us. If we look at Facebook, it doesn't take much to bring down a group.
