Hi, newbie here. handle gently please. several yrs ago I read about gyros , read different opinons of control. conventional or overhead. I liked the idea of over head. after a few lessons in an Aircommand with conventional, I thought more of how I might prefer and overhead stick.
I am planning on building a Gyro Bee but starbee dont supply an overhead option. Where can I get info/overhead stick for a gyrobee?
Thanks
Roger

Re:overhead stick

I have an overhead on my Gyrobee. This was the first type of stick I learned on as a teenager. Many, many people get confused by them, push the wrong way and crash.

If you've flown hang gliders or trikes, the overhead probably won't confuse you. In that case, though, you'll be limited in your ability to find training. There's only one CFI in the country who teaches the overhead.

The overhead is simple, light and inexpensive. It's made of 1" x .058 round 6061-T6 aircraft tubing. Inside the upper two feet is a sleeve of 7/8" x .058 round 6061-T6. The handle on mine is welded on: it can just as well be attached with a couple of gusset plates and 3/16" bolts or rivets, as Bensen did.

I certainly don't mean any disrespect when I say this, but who is "GyroRon"?

Re:overhead stick

That's right, Ron - you've got to use your real name. Sorry bud, house rules... :(

;D

Re:overhead stick

Ron Awad, did you ask for permission to change your avatar? We are too acquainted with that smiling guy. You can't change that without a severe disrupt in your public image. ;D

Re:overhead stick

Okay fixed it, my name is below for all to see. Heck everyone here knows who I am anyway.

Juice, It was just time for a change. I am having withdraws from my Pacer so I decided to put it as my Avatar to remind me of what I am missing.

Udi..... Come on why don't you use YOUR real name, I mean who would name their kid UDI???? ;) lol j/k
