Recently I came across books which might be of interest to some and as winter is coming and it is not the time for a lot of flying there may be some more.
The first one is a nasa publication
Development of the U-2
A short one on a topic which I find fascinating: Airlift over the Hump
Airlift from the Hump to Berlin
The next two are available without login or anything but I have no idea what the legal status is, so just decide yourself and please leave a note if you have any insight.
Aircraft of the Luftwaffe 1935-1945
this one is informative but the standard for this topic for a long time was Kens, Novarra: Die Deutschen Flugzeuge 1933-45
American Military Transport Aircraft Since 1925
Here is another one:
ENCYCLOPEDIA OF US AIR FORCE AIRCRAFT AND MISSILE SYSTEMS VOLUME I
ENCYCLOPEDIA OF US AIR FORCE AIRCRAFT AND MISSILE SYSTEMS VOLUME II
Have fun!
