I'm not a pilot but have been lucky enough to fly in Mi-24 Hind, Mi-2, Mi-17, Lynx HAS3, Gliders, GA
This weeks FAA update shows newly registered Cavalon N913GB - this has factory serial V00104, making it from around 2013 - manufacturer is listed as AutoGyro Gmbh rather than Joe Bloggs, so doesn't appear to be built in the US.

I've no previous info on V00104 and wonder if it's been imported secondhand from another country - anybody know anymore on this machine and its life prior to becoming N913GB.

Evidently it's just a registration right now... no airworthiness yet.

The latest FAA ASIAS shows this gyro had an incident on 19.1.20 - prop strike after landing at Hawthorne, California, damage minor

The FAA Register shows it as having category Exhibition - ie it was an imported second hand factory built example ( see first posting, likely from Europe, tbc ), registered to a trutee company in Oklahoma.

Wonder what struck the prop, or what the prop struck.
On a pusher sometimes FOD-stuff will go through the prop but only rarely does that produce an FAA record, especially with only minor damage.

I sucked up an AN bolt from the ramp with the prop on my J-2 once (you could measure the thread pitch from the wound, like a fingerprint for the bolt), and re-profiling the blade was costly. I have seen some CFIs, in an effort to get thorough pre-flights from students, leave a little loose hardware around to see if it is noticed by the student. I always tell them what a bit of loose hardware cost me, and ask them to try another approach.

Rumor has it that the Cavalon actually struck the rotor on the runway.

Yes, Adventure Air is located at HHR Jack Northrup Field/ Hawthorne Municipal Airport in Hawthorne, CA.
It was not one of Henry's gyroplanes.
