Ok, I have a 582 with 250 hrs on it when I put new pistons, rings and bearings. I bought it from a friend but decided to go ahead and go through it just to make sure it was ready. Well as you know I have ran the engine on the Traveler. Well I can't get above 4800 rpms without my egt going past 1200 F.......I have the HACman installed and it is set to full rich, my main jets are 180's and my mid ranged is a 2.72 and needle is 11G2........I can not figure it out........Any suggestions?

Tried that one Al, I have a squirt bottle with a thinned mixture of oil, in misting around intakes and carbs engine still runs steady and smooth at the set rpms.

Ok ,have you checked needle jet clip position and float level not too low?

Oh my God!! He's still awake. Al, it's after 2 a.m. where you're at! Go to bed. I mean it. Maybe he did. His green light is off.

David, have you tried to pressurize the case?
If you have a way to do it, Bicycle pump, low psi gauge, etc. pump no more than 6psi into the pulse line fitting, you should have no more than 1psi drop in 5 min, You could have a leaking seal under the flywheel, or PTO gearbox side, or even one of the seals in the rotary shaft area.
You will have to block off your exhaust ports and carb sockets with rubber plugs or some such thing.
Also, if the oil injection is removed, make sure the oil line fittings are capped. as well.

Al- yep I am on the bottom ring on the needle.

Scott- Hmmm, never thought about that one. I will have to give that a try tonight and see what happens.

Thanks

Well, it is fixed...well the egt's are now onto other problems

I got the egt's fixed, it was a blocked vent on the carbs. My egt's are right on now. After doing a couple of runs at various power settings from idle to WOT a few other things have popped up. One, my water temp never gets above 130 F at any power settings even when egt is at 1195 for 5 minutes. Two, cht's never get above 240 at any power settings. I am going to have to design some type of louvers for the motorcycle radiator to control airflow so the water temps will come into the usable range. The motorcycle radiator I am using came off ebay for $60 and it is smaller than the Rotax radiators but it seems to cool way too good.

Good! Glad you located the problem. Just keep the water temps below 175 degF and you should be fine.
I used a Honda gold wing radiator (1979 gl1000) on the suzuki and it ran around 180deg on the ground.

Yeah, glad it was simple and I did not have to take the engine apart again to replace seals. This motorcycle radiator is running too good. Without louvers the water temp will not get hot enough and I am afraid of damaging the pistons because the water is so cold.
