Howdy folks, I am a fixed wing pilot/builder that has been fascinated with Gyros for many years.

We had a handful of Gyro pilots at the Las Cruces NM airport back in the 90s when I learned how to fly, but they’ve all passed on.

I teach at the Aero Knowledge Center at KLRU. We mentor, provide hands-on shop training and first flights for high school and college students that are interested in aviation and aerospace engineering.

We have an extensive library of light aircraft design, powerplant, flight and aerodynamics books/PDFs, like Paxmany, Bruhns, Dan Raymer, Evans, Jeppesons etc.

We have NO books on autogyro design and flight to share with our students.

I have looked online to try to purchase gyrocopter design and flight training books, but have found little it seems that none are being published anymore.

If there is a source of new/used/extra gyro design books that you all know of or even PDFs that I could print out and put in our library, I would greatly appreciate it.

The students are very interested in gyrocopter design, and I would like to share these amazing flying machines with our students, maybe even get an airframe for study.

Thanks!

You can find the Rotorcraft Flying Handbook for Gyroplanes here:

There used to be a book though a bit dated now by DER Martin Hollman

I have a hard copy and I think you can still get it from his family.

There are a few forum members who have some excel sheets for calculations that they may be willing to share like Jean Claude (JC) and some researchers like Raghu and Kolibiri who might be able to provide some papers or links.

Thanks Abid!
I did see Martin Holman‘s book on Amazon, but they were asking 250 bucks for it. That’s more than our operation afford to pay for one book. I do have his other books on the fixed wing design in analysis.

Any spreadsheets or calculators would be hugely helpful in demonstrating design concepts to the students!!

I bet if you contacted his family/wife via that website and told her what you are doing, they'd drop the price down significantly. If not contact me and I'll see what I can do. ([email protected])

There are 2 of these postings, this one has more info, maybe you can delete the other one......
