My Engine

The pic below shows the multiple sets of flange holes, which jibes with the instl manual dwg I posted in previous post, showing 12 holes. I've seen some pics that show nuts at the rear of the flange, but I've also seen mention that the holes are tapped. Maybe one set is tapped and the other isn't--who the H*** knows? There's no clue in Rotax's inst manual, and no info I can find elsewhere. It's like pulling teeth. But what's new?

Treaze,

Look in your CPS catalog, the flange dimensions and hole sizes are in there.

.

Treaze my prop hub measured out to 2 3/16 so I guess it would be 2.25 if the wood compresses slightly. I'm sure there are two sets of holes but its been so long I just forgot. One set of holes are tapped to screw your m8 bolts into. This is how mine is setup. Good luck!:usa2:

Red - Thanks for info and pics. TPI lists prop hubs of 1.5, 1.75, 2, 2.25, and 3". Which did they give you?? I used my apparently inadequate photo analysis skills on your pic and came up with 2.55", but that can't be right. Treaze :
How everything going? I have been hoping to see a post by now!

Treaze : How are things come, I wanted to ask because I have not seen any post from you in a month now. Thought I would check in !!!!!

Treaze : Hey guy,
I wanted to see how you were feeling, I know that cancer treatments can kick your butt, I thought you might stop by to check every few days.

"I have you on the prayer list and hope you feel better soon".

Ditto.. get well soon.

I did not know Treaze was going through this ordeal, bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Buddy get well soon, we are all puling for you.

This sucks, there must be something in the air or water. I have just spent OVER six weeks in 5 hospitals VISITING 5 different sick relatives in 3 states and northern CA and back to SD and in the middle of all of this, just as I was leaving for Mentone, my 39 year old son-in-law died in his sleep and they still cannot find the cause.

PS:
The only visit to the hospital that was positive during the last two months was for the birth of a new grand daughter.

I am not trying to be smart or make light of others situations,
we have a word here in Australia that expresses our feelings, dismay and condolences in this situation. The context determines the meaning.
" Buggar" sorry mate.
Congrates on the grandchild, aint they great.

Thanks a lot, guys. I really appreciate the good thoughts. And glad, too, to see the Forum isn't totally dead--I was beginning to wonder, since there's been almost zero activity on it for a long time. I start my 8th cycle of chemo tomorrow, trying to beat a very aggressive stage IV lung cancer. So far, this new stuff they're giving me now seems to be working. The old stuff quit working, and I had 1-2 weeks left to live. Not fun times. But I'm feeling fairly good now since I've had a 2-wk break, and even bought a new Mini Cooper yesterday--because it's 5 feet shorter than the old huge p/u, and will provide that much more desperately needed space in my garage/gyro manufacturing facility! I haven't done any work on it in a long time, due to fatigue and stamina, but I do think about it, and hope to get back to it soon.

Welcome back treaze. :welcome: Glad that new stuff seems to be helping, ready to see that gyrobee in the air. ;)

glad to see your still fighting and looking forward to more work on the gyro. My thoughts and prayers to you.

treaze- Thoughts and prayers with you. Glad you are improving. I always enjoyed reading your build progress.

Well good for you fighting it! And good for you making space for your Bee. My thoughts and payers with you. God bless you my friend.

Treaze : Just wanted to let you know that I miss your post and work, hope you are doing good.

Hey, I'm still here. I see I haven't posted since Sep of last year, and that's a long time. Even longer since I've done any work on the gyro. I've been doing really well, though, and it even appears I may live. It's been a long time, though, doing anything like in normal life--been doing mostly Bucket List types of things, and going in for chemo and then recovering enough for the next chemo cycle. So I'm having to do a lot of catchup things. And when I get sort of caught up, as hosp visits and stamina permits, I plan to get back onto the gyro project. Thanks for your posts, guys--sorry I haven't responded before now. Later...

Wonderful!

Wonderful!

Treaze,
That is WONDERFUL that you are doing better!

I never did contribute to your build threads, but I was a faithful (lurking) follower of your progress....
I was always quite impressed!

Take your time, but when you are ready, you can get back at it and reward yourself with a beautiful flying machine!

Thanks for the update! I"m sure everybody here is very relieved to hear the good news!
