I'm considering building an AutoGyro MTOsport Classic kit. I'm a retired mechanical engineer with a lot of mechanical and electrical aptitude and experience, though I've never built anything as complex or as critical from a safety standpoint as a gyroplane. I've read quite a few sections of the English language assembly manual that are dated from 2014 to 2017. I find a lot of the instructions to be confusing and possibly not very good translations from German. I'm nervous about embarking on such a big and expensive project and worry that I might get very frustrated with the building process or worse, assemble something incorrectly. Some, like my instructor, say they are easy to build. Others say the businesses offering build-assist frequently aren't available to assist when needed. I'd love to hear from others who have built MTOs about their experience. Thanks in advance!

Why do you not buy something like an AR-1 then which is made in the US and you can get quick technical support over the phone, text or e-mail within an hour or two? Or you can just come down to Florida, build it with an experienced factory assembler and let us do the paperwork and test fly it before shipping it to you or you trailering it.

I'm not familiar with the American Rangers, but I will look at them now. Thank you!

I have an MTO Sport 914 (upgraded older version MT-03).
I would very much like to read that assembly manual,
as it would help me maintain my own machine.

Cheers
Erik

When I saw the build "manual" for the Calidus, my first thought was, "You have to be kidding!"

If you're a first-time AG builder, you need build assistance from someone whose done it before no matter your mechanical bona fides.

The AR-1C is appealing. Is it possible to do a build assist so that I’ll be the builder of record.

AR-1C is no longer available. Just AR-1 configuration.

Yes of course it is possible to come and participate in the build and get listed as builder. We have two kits ready to go
