Hi.
Anyone who know about this paint from 2007?
I just tried my local paint supplier - no luck.
Someone out there must know something....
It's both blue and green metallic changing with the light.
Regards,
Erik

I'm not a pilot but have been lucky enough to fly in Mi-24 Hind, Mi-2, Mi-17, Lynx HAS3, Gliders, GA
Can Auto-Gyro Denmark help - hopefully they can identify/name that particular shade - basic contact details from the WWW

AG have made up their own colours. I have a Pearl white Cavalon which was an AG “ inhouse” colour which makes repairs and colour matching very difficult.

This will be an automotive type paint mixed by an autobody shop or an automotive paint store .... whoever painted your gyro would have looked at a paint chip sample of the color he wanted .... could be a VW or Jaguar , or Kia or Cadillac color .... points to it and the mixer looks at the paint code number and finds the tinter formulas to mix together.

Find out who had your gyro painted and ask for the code. If it was done at the factory they would know.

Hi. Thank you for the answers, all three.
Unfortunately the factory has been less than helpful on an earlier, very important occasion.
I needed paperwork on a large modification made by Auto-Gyro people.
And twice they even sent me an unuseable "crack detection kit" - with empty cans.....
So I think it would be a waste of time to ask, as they don't seem to save documentation
or check up on things.

Regards,
Erik

Your local paint supplier is probably not the go to guy in this instance.
Find a body shop that specializes in Rods and Customs. Even a custom bike maker of which there are a few MOST excellent ones in your country.
Deep within there will be a wizard who will resolve your problem.

I just asked the former owner by SMS.
He replied: It'´s Flipflop Blue. He bought it from Auto-Gyro.
Okay, then I had better ask them...

.
"Flip Flop" is actual automotive paint terminology .... and in your case it tries to flip from blue to green depending on how the light reflects ...... Hopefully they have the code for you .... if you are painting two adjacent panels it can be hard to match the colors ... most painters will try to blend the new paint into the original so you cannot see a dividing line .... believe it or not Volkswagen is the only car manufacturer who will supply the actual same paint they used in the factory and it matches perfect each time. You will also need a clearcoat over the blue. You probably knew that already . good luck.

Through the Australian dealer I found Michael Bartlett at Autogyro in Germany most helpful in tracking down my colour.

A few days ago I received confirmation, that the company can supply the paint.
Only problem is, it's classified as dangerous goods, so freight would be €100.
It's nice to know they can and will deliver - now I just need to have someone pick it up.
Thank you for all your help.
Cheers
Erik
