Nice pic`s Tim, We had a family get together at Serpent Mound a couple of years ago, interesting place for sure.
The mistery pic of the circles looks like some good ATV or cycle trails to ride on. Could that be the State riding trails next to Longs Retreat?
Thanks Rick!
Neat place for a get-to-gether.
Archeologists still don't know squat about the place or who built it. Just guessing. Some indications are that it is very very old some have it built or rebuilt in early AD.
I am not one to be superstious but it was a little 'wiggy' when we flew over and strangly hit lots of thermals and turbulance that we did not experience elsewhere!
Yes, I think they are ATV trails.
I don't know about Longs Retreat. I will have to google that after work and learn about it. If you are referring to the cabin that is located in the Cincinnati Nature Center.
Mark,
Yea, Birdy has given me 'altitude grief' when I have taken some photos above 500' before!
Most of the trip I was between 500 to 1100' feet. However, when I fly over parks I like to add a little altitude out of respect of the park and visitors.
The only windshiled shot is the one of the dashboard panel.
Over the mound itself I was only about 800' but it sits on a rim created possibly by a meteor impact 350 million yeargs ago and is a couple of hundred feet above the surrounding landscape.
