Mentone '23! Who's coming?

Looks like I will be flying to Mentone from Oshkosh. Trying to keep flight legs to 175nm, any recommendations on airports would be appreciated.

I wear light weight biker clothing ,

Womens long sleeve shirts as they fit me well according to my wife , she's a lil worried I might try her dresses on . Light cotton pants, I ONLY wear cotton .I have light weight shoes . As to Biker stuff , its full on Leather and breathable cordura with the best helmet you can buy and a back protector .

AirVenture was great except for the mishaps.

I spent today at the Waco Museum in Troy, Ohio.

Tomorrow is The National Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio, may spend two days as it is hard to take it all in in one day.

It is their 100th A anniversary.

Tuesday night in Rochester and Wednesday at Mentone through Saturday and then homeward bound to Santa Maria, California for eight days of training in The Predator.

I love a road trip!

Maybe. One of my students was going to go but he needs to do something else in that time frame.
It depends on the passenger though. Weight. How big bag of clothes he wants to take etc. Can he wear the same underwear twice flipping it inside out for the second day . Just kidding. Let me know.

Only twice? Front to back, then inside out and flip. Gets me 4 days!

Some cultures just wear one same piece of undeshort daily. At the end of the day, it is taken off and used as a washcloth with soap in the shower/bath, wrung out and then hung dry overnight. Ready to be used for the next day.

Actually was headed into TN till I saw in airport info that those airports were closed right at 5. So turned back and flew back to Rome

I did order a Pizza. That’s kind of Romanish …

I did pack my duffle bag way too fat so on takeoff and landing my back stick runs into my bag’s belly a little. So I am perfecting my use of electric trim as I flare for those last 2 degrees.

Landed yesterday at Mentone. Got a good good Mexican dinner and sleep in a hotel and now sitting at Mentone. Did some monkeying around rivers and wind turbine farms.
Hope to see some of there. Learned my lesson about putting a GoPro on top on the helmet. It’s ok for 2 hours but after 6 to 7 hours flying with it in your neck and shoulders get sore. Ouch.

I'm surprised you lasted that long! I tried one on my and after an hour I was about ready to chuck it!
