Hello all,, first I am new and this is my first post. I have access to a Rotax 503, I was wondering what size gyro would be best suited for that engine ?

What size guy are you? Size - a small single seat machine.

Single seat gyro with gross weight of 700 pounds max. should perform adequately with 25 foot rotors with 50 HP

I would look at the GTVX1 with a 582 personally. I have an Aviomania G1sB with a 912. Love it.

Go to some flyins, look at machines, get some training first.

Then decide.

The 503 (especially the dual-carb model) can power a basic, open-frame single-seat gyro. Cruise speed will be 50-55 mph.

Models with enclosures will likely be too heavy for it. A pilot who weighs more than 200 also will weigh it down and reduce performance.

Your altitude will have a major effect also. I live at 4500 ft and could only fly in the cooler morning or in the winter.

A Dominator Ultra White came standard with a 503. It weighed about 300lbs. I have seen someone as much as 230-240 fly one. That was here in Florida at almost sea level and on a cooler day. Dad flew his like he stole it and he was 210 most of the time. That is with Dragon Wings Blades too.
